I wonder if there is anything you can do in that last hand to trick your opponents into doubling your 7NT bid. There are a maximum of 5 HCPs against you. They could be with one opponent, along with tens and nines. Probably not enough for anybody to consider doubling, but there might be some hands in which you've decided you will end up in 7NT, but you might want to advertise some sort of weakness to trick your opponents into doubling.
I always find gerber examples funny, as i never see it being better than a non gerber auction. Everybody with decent systemic knowledge is getting to at least 7 spades there without gerber, and bluntly ive never had a minus score with a major grand making, so ill take the 10 card fit for safety.
