State Emergency or President's Rule under Article 356
State Emergency, also known as President's Rule, is imposed under Article 356 of the Indian Constitution when the governance of a state cannot be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution. This situation typically arises when:
1. The state government fails to comply with or implement constitutional directives.
2. There is a breakdown of law and order or political instability in the state.
3. The governor of the state submits a report to the President indicating that the government in the state is unable to function constitutionally.
When President's Rule is imposed:
The state legislative assembly is either dissolved or suspended.
The executive authority of the state is exercised by the President through the Governor.
It initially lasts for six months but can be extended to a maximum of three years with parliamentary approval.
The imposition of President's Rule is subject to judicial review to prevent its misuse.

राष्ट्रपति शासन लागू होने पर:
राज्य विधानसभा को निलंबित या भंग कर दिया जाता है।
राज्य का कार्यकारी अधिकार राष्ट्रपति द्वारा राज्यपाल के माध्यम से प्रयोग किया जाता है।
यह प्रारंभ में छह महीने के लिए लागू होता है, लेकिन संसद की मंजूरी से इसे अधिकतम तीन वर्षों तक बढ़ाया जा सकता है।
राष्ट्रपति शासन के दुरुपयोग को रोकने के लिए इसे न्यायिक समीक्षा के अधीन रखा गया है।
