Oh, a pro tip. If you want full control of a chicken, you slide your hand to their belly, and lock your pinky/ring fingers around one leg, and lock your index/middle finger under the other leg. Then hold them close to your chest for stability (or slightly under your arm if they're robust), which causes them to feel more secure.

Lucky you...I can't eat the corn because I have acute diverticulosis and it makes me sick I have to go to the hospital...you know what I like? Just a note of importance, Al you should never wash your potatoes unless you will eat them that day, they won't last as long once you clean them. Best thing is put them in a paper bag or sack with the dirt..and keep them cold and dark and they will last much longer...
haha... I'm a Idaho potato farmer and scrolled down to tell him the exact same thing about the potatoes. leave them dirty and don't scratch the skins or bruise them and store them in a dark cool cellar like you would a stepchild. ;-) lol...
The goats head butting each other reminded me, I had a friend in high school that had a pet goat. He raised it from a baby and when it was still little started mock head butting it like it would have learned from it's mother. Within a year or so he goes to head butt it and he doesn't notice it rear up and really head butt him. Just about knocked him out. That was the end of that little practice,

We used to leave the potato's out to dry in the sun for a little while and store them in the cellar. We'd have bushels of them............How'd the Diatomaceous earth work on the potato bugs?

I wouldn't be surprised if Moose didn't fight Andy. Moose is a Black Breasted Old English Game Bantam. BB Red for short. They are feisty little chickens. The corn looked delicious.
I love the general store in Bath, with the good Ole Ammonoosuc River. I went tubing from Littleton to Bath. Also Chutters is a favorite to visit. Now I want candy and FUDGE lol!
Hi Al, sorry but jeanna is right you need flowers, companion planting and to attract pollenaters to the garden, the fact that they are beautiful is just a lucky coincidence, and flowers mean pollen and pollen means Bee's and honey.

i tried to grow some red potatoes in a container but was only marginally successful, i was thinking the spot i had them was too hot and sunny maybe? i grew them in bagged soil but they were teeny tiny, the few i had. i bought the seed potatoes online. i guess ill try again next year.

Also if you grow Thompson Seedless Grapes, they make a really good pie, that tastes almost like a gooseberry pie. Pick them when just a little sweet but still tart. I think you'd like it.

Those odd looking ducks are muscovy a very good homestead duck that you should definitely consider adding to the farm. They are super tastey meat ducks too!
