Thank you for these videos. I am an amateur photographer. The menus you had for the Sony A1 was a keeper. As soon as I get the A1 2 in December, I will follow your menu suggestions. .
I think he rushed this video out - human reaction time is 0.25 seconds on average so you would typically set it to 0.3 seconds. Also you don't want to turn off "Subject recog in AF", leave it on but turn off Auto because that will continuously hunt and prioritise humans in the frame.
If you selected Balanced for AF-C you will rarely get to 30FPS. Much better to just set to release, maximize FPS and pick your keepers. Don't give power to the camera to decide if it has a proper AF lock. It is hardly correct with this fast action and just gets you less FPS to choose the keepers from. Also turning Subject Detection in AF to OFF means you aren't getting your Human subject detection either. On your A9III video you have this set to ON with Humans selected. If that has been working for you then you should leave it ON with the A1II and select Humans. If you turn it OFF it doesn't matter if you have Auto or Human or Insects, it isn't going to be looking for any of them.
@@PMRTV is the menu as fast and responsive as the one on the A7IV? the A9ii is quite sluggish, and, to an extent even the A1 one (including function buttons engage time) -- thanks
You mentioned going to the UTEP bs TN game. That was a brutal game! My Daughter is dating Skyler Locklear the #9 UTEP quarterback. If you have a cool picture of him, would you share it with me? I am a physician with a love for photography. No commercial affiliation to anything. Thanks!
@@PMRTV i recal in a Mark Galer video a few years back about the a1 will shoot 30fps but you have to have a few setting lined up in order to do it. One setting was not having it on balanced emphasis and the other was the view finder fps needing to be at the highest, is it 240fps? you will only get 30fps once these planets are aligned 🙂

Thanks PM-R. Cheers
Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. I'm still trying to wrap my head around a pre-capture of 0.03 sec. At 30fps that 0.9 frames pre-capture

let's wait till you actually use one and then you can let me know ;)
@@PMRTV Is this different compared with the A1 Mark 1?
Thanks!!!
I’m curious about the pre capture. In your opinion of the 300ish shots you kept, was a fair number of them pre capture?
probably 5% but those frames are really important in telling the story of the game

Do you like this over the A9III?
yes I do!

I have him getting sacked????
does shooting 100M, 4:2:2, 10 bit better for low light?
yes, of course because it's a much larger color space :)
Is pre-capture and Anti-flicker simultaneous with the A9III ?
nope. you have to pick one.
no
I dont think you get 30fps with balanced emphasis. At least not on the a1.
you are probably right but it may depend on the lens.
