IPS D. Sivanandhan has been a former Maharashtra DGP who was once the Chief of the Mumbai Crime Branch in the late 90s. During his tenure, 238 gangsters from several gangs, including, Chhota Rajan, and the Abu Salem gang, were killed in the encounter. He is someone who is known for destroying the Mumbai underworld on the basis of his insane leadership abilities.
In this clip, D. Sivanandhan talks about the measures the government took to counter terrorism in India after the 2008 Mumbai attacks. He said - hundreds of crores were invested to improve the security systems and Mumbai Police can now tackle such an attack in 30-50 minutes.

But yes, you are right. India is safer than ever before today because it is an ongoing process. Only thing is that the process had started from 2009 itself & not just in the last 8 years as the bhaktjan seem to imply.
India became safer after NIA was formed in 2008 after 26/11 attacks, in just 3 years they have brought number of terror attacks to almost zero by foiling my of their plans and catching sleeper cells.
Uri and pulwama both were near the border and the target was army, whereas not a single bomb blast could be carried out again civilians in cities. There is a difference bro. Give credit where it is due

India's security has definitely changed since the 26/11 attacks .... Our cities feel much more safer now and also there have been no big terrorist attacks on our soil .... Both UPA & NDA govt. Have done a good job in this area ! .... But I think we still need to do more to make our cities safer .... 🙂 ....

This person is deflecting the direct question, why weren't Mumbai Police prepared? This guy giving excuse on excuse "we have long costal, we have porous border" we don't need geographical lessons sir. We need asssurance, that such incident will not happen, if it did happen then you guys have a proper response with less life and collateral damage but with your deflecting answers, i don't think we are safe in the hands of Indian polices. I am not sure, why this person is defensive about the failures, if one doesn't learn and accept the failure you are bound to repeat it.
Ask the then govt why weren't preparation done, who leaked intelligence, who reported wars on tv and why only one news channel was given right, and why kasab was given every thing whereas our forces weren't
