  • Latest DragonOS Pi64 has been uploaded and now contains CaribouLite support (whatever is working at this point in time).
I suggest trying sudo SoapySDRServer --bind with various applications to include GNU Radio, but in this video I go back over a very interesting server/client feature of SigDigger and show how it's possible to have everything working directly on the Pi4 itself.
The CaribouLite code is still a work in progress with some recent changes attempting to get rid of the need to use sudo, but for the DragonOS Pi64 image I stuck with a particular commit that I've found to work for me.
More info on the CaribouLite code here,

It's funny, I bought a couple of the Cariboulite's and waiting for the delivery from Mouser/Crowd Supply. I'll get this setup on a pi 400 waiting for the boards to arrive.

I think the first time you try what I show in the video the audio will take a while to start because I’m using root and because I didn’t Pre build the fftw file like I did for the Ubuntu user. That just occurred to me, cause the first time I messed up what I was recording and started over so the part of fftw building had already happened.

@@cemaxecuter7783 No worries. I'll take case of those steps, plenty of time to get it sorted.

I have followed several videos to the 'T' for raspian and dragon, and can not get this board running. WTF!!!

I’ll probably try to do a new video, but I will say I put some steps up under a ticket here too

It’s rough with any piece being missed ending up causing issues but there’s also the possibility something changed recently on the GitHub project page.

Which version of DragonOS did you use here? Beta31? Doesn't seem to be available anymore.

Version 31 or 32 that’s still up should work. But the latest 33 won’t since I switched to a 6.5 kernel to support the pi5. I’ll leave up 32 for this reason.

      @@cemaxecuter7783 Gotcha. I'll try v32 tomorrow. Thanks!

@@cemaxecuter7783 Ok, I got Beta32 and tried the same steps - and I get "Module insertion 'smi_stream_dev' failed" in SoapySDRUtil --find
And also same when I do suscli makeprof (after answering yes), and when running the dev server.
You clearly don't have that error in your video.
In general though it seems there are issues with the kernel in Beta 32 as well. I also see kernel update in changelog for Beta 32 - so I presume CaribouLite lib you've compiled for Beta 31 is also broken in Beta 32, not just Beta 33.

@ArchonLicht it’s definitely not working in 33, but I’ll make you a video with steps to have it working in 32. I probably didn’t include what was needed in the image due to all the issues that project is having, but I for sure made it work on my end. What’s really annoying is I think no matter what it can’t really run all on one system, you’ll see what I mean. Hit md up on email or at the source force DragonOS pi64 page and I’ll follow up on this more towards the weekend.

@ArchonLicht I just pulled down R32, latest caribou source. Added sudo to line 144 of the install.sh script and commented out the two lines that pull in source and kernel with apt, then ran it. I made the specific changes it says at the end in red. Shut down pi, installed caribou hat. Turned it back on and run sudo SoapySDRServer -bind
In another terminal sudo CubicSDR and was able to use it (performed poor). It has really only worked for me when setting up a server on the pi and connecting to it from another machine.

Still not figure how to make it work. I follow this video with still no luck. I'm using a RPI4 8Gb... So I'm wondering, what model are you using? I received my Cariboulite 3 weeks ago

I’ll have to try again later but even I had issues when I went back and tried with mine. I’ve been hoping some updates would come that’d make it a much more enjoyable experience.
