- Have you mastered all great mysteries of the music industry besides the elusive “in-ear monitor system?” Well boy do I have a video for you! Yeah it’s not as simple as throwing some AirPods in your ears and praying, but it doesn’t have to necessitate selling your car and/or getting certificate in a 2 year audio program either. Let’s make this easy for everybody!

I was just about to start looking into IEMs, and this popped up on my feed, thanks so much for the recommendations. I'll check those out. Any man with a desk pic of Marty Jannetty absolutely deserves my respect. Thanks!
Rad!!!! Happy to help man hit me with any questions that might come up!!
IEMs changed my life. i have another hack to offer. any hanging instrument like guitar, bass, keytar, whatever that has a cable going from the instrument to an amp, pedalboard, or DI can loom/tape/ziptie a long 1/8” trs headphone extension cable along side said instrument cable (making a pair) from a headphone amp output (kept on the floor, on top of your amp, or on your pedal board) in exchange for what would-have-been the in-house wedge monitor signal. just plug your In-Ears to your new headphone extension (i keep the input right around where the strap-button is), then plug the in-house-monitor passive signal into the input of your headphone amp. warn the sound engineer to bring up the mix slowly and carefully. this set-up makes it doable without the expense of a wireless system or a fancy full-band mixer. until you can afford a fancy system, your band can ask the club sound engineer for whatever you want in your mix at soundcheck (assuming you get a sound check) eliminating the wedges altogether.
That is a good hack! Radial makes DI’s for taking the “out” or thru of a wedge as well that’s kinda cool. And the behringer P1 works this way too but it’s bulky for a belt pack and xlrs on your person is annoying, your idea is better
totally! rolls has one too that you can run your microphone thru and blend it separately from the rest of the monitor mix. that radial you mentioned is even more interesting. good stuff.
Finally i understand !
Hahahaha I got you dude. We’re Uber-bromigos, this doesn’t have to be scary. Told you I had the XVive on lock
@@ShreducationNation You earned my like, comment and subscribe so hard bro, once I recoup my money from buying 43 XVives I'll Patreon it UP
Man, I have to stick to my 215s cause every 3months during soundcheck my ears fall down the back, and then CRUNCH… under my boot and it’s gone.
This has happened to our keyboardist twice. You are not alone my brother. I haven’t broken in ears as much as I’ve lost them but man I have lost a fuckin bunch of em.
😂
