To use Joe Montana's arm abilities, you need to hold A (Xbox) X (Ps3) to charge the ability prior to throwing.
2k should make another generic team football game. I don't care about NFL teams.
2k8 tanked without the NFL licence, so I would doubt that will ever happen.

You're losing because you haven't learned to break your Madden habits. All Pro Football plays like a simulation of Pro Football, Madden doesn't. You tried to make Joe throw across his body under duress, the program prevents that because Joe never did that, the program forces you to plant your feet and you can't do that on the run, only Madden allows arcade nonsense like that. Also, you make the Madden habit of backing up in the pocket, that's why some of your passes were falling flat. Don't do that. It's not proper fundamentals, either stay set or step up, never go backwards unless pressure leaves you no other path, the game punishes you for doing non-fundamental stuff like that.

the sidlines are so realistic looking. madden sidlines looks like ps2 or ps1. just the details you get with this game. the gameplay is good, player movement looks smooth. crazy how EA Tiburon hasn't come close with recent game's. just comical..lol
Let's just appreciate the opening kickoff return td where he changed direction fluidly not all jerky and robotic, then didn't get sucked into any blockers or defender animations, and then the casual step over the diving defender with barely a stumble.
Game is so good with it's physics and player movement/interaction ... Just sucks we have to play a 10 yr old game to get realistic football
It's a joke that Madden's sidelines are nowhere near as detailed or realistic as these. APF 2K8 has cheerleaders, ball boys, coaches, all the players, press, moving air blowers, kicking nets and the players react to what you are doing on the field a lot more realistically than they do in Madden!

I've tweeted rex, guru about sidelines. and then what else kills me is some madden player's are good with the way they look..lol it's a sports game you trying to replicate with what you see on t.v. its part of the game

You should be able to find a full player list online. I din't think he is. They don't have many o-lineman.
I just found a list. If my counting is correct there are only 28 o-lineman out of 240 'Legends'. Only about 5 of those are centers. Your uncle isn't on the list.
In 2K5, I enjoyed the ability to lock my corners with specific receivers. also, tapping the A button (X on PS) to run faster gives a better immersion of going faster then holding down a trigger.
Make this a series RBT
When kicking, pull the stick back and push it forward when the kicker's leg is moving forward towards the ball. You'll want your stick hitting all the way up at the time the kicker's foot is making contact with the ball. Hope that helps!
I'm going to help you out bro. For kicking you have to flick up the moment your kicker is going to connect with the ball. The harder up you push the further it'll go. Make this a series! Also if you hit the receiver button more than once it pump fakes, so that's why you kept pump faking. To lead the pass press the direction after you release the ball. Hope this helps!
Can always spot a madden player when they immediately run out of the pocket haha.
Or drop straight back 15 yards to pass instead of playing in the pocket.

you know, there's an entire community online that has modded this game to be exactly like the *current* NFL. I mean uniforms, logos, players, everything. this game is still played alot and almost everybody knows this is 100x better than Madden!!

When you are kicking, you wait to push the stick forward until the kicker is about to kick the ball. Just a tip...
You can change dance celebrations also. I use to play this game before and it was hard. You can also change your playbook. Kicking use the right thumb stick like his leg. You know how to kick in real life. Use the thumb stick like that. Right trigger and trying to throw a pass doesn't work.

The reason you're pump-faking is because you're *_double-pressing_* the buttons (that's how you pump fake to certain receivers to throw off the defense).
To throw the ball just tap it *_once_* (to lob it) or hold it down (to bullet pass).

don't touch RT as the QB unless you intend to scramble. Once you hit RT your QB tucks the ball to run, you have to hit RT again to get him ready to throw.
I also believe that double tapping the receiver's icon results in a pump fake.

Your most likely pump faking from double tapping the passing icon and when you are scrambling you have to release right trigger(360) or R2(ps3) to bring up the passing icons and throw the ball, when your holding down the right trigger you are unable to throw the ball.

I really miss 2K football. I wish 2K would make an NCAA football game since they don’t have rights to the NFL. I would purchase a generic 2K game at this time. I recently played All Pro 2K8 and the gameplay is so much better than my current Madden game. We need competition back!!
