They played virtually every EZO song on rotation on KNC which was the college radio station in Raleigh back in the day 1987 ish, which carried past Chapel Hill. They were also the first to play GNR on the air before anyone plus many others. Ahead of their time!
The drummer Hiro Homma is I think the only member left making music, his work with Anthem later on was stellar. A shame they're all mostly out of the game because these guys were so good. Actually, I guess I should add, guitarist Shoyo Iida stayed in the States and became a really respected sushi chef. There was an article published on him recently even.
Yeah, they’re on the list of criminally under known and underrated bands. It happens some times. Don’t get promoted right, it’s not the right time for some reason. Some good ones just slip through the cracks. They got radio play in my city. Top ten largest American city. 🤷🏼♂️
I ran out and bought this after hearing here it comes on 89.5 wsou in NJ, But the moment i heard the drums and bass opening of destroyer, this was my song. nothing else could compare!
I saw EZO back in 1988 in North Carolina.(Palomino Club). They did not look the same as in this video. They were pretty much trimmed down clothes wise. and they Rocked !
I will just say I used to walk around at night with this blasting through my walkman feeling bad ass. It’s a great drinking album. My spirit animal is Godzilla. I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so.
It's a shame that they weren't bigger. There last 2 albums were great 1987 EZO , and 1989 FIRE FIRE - They broke up in 1990. I always loved there heavy drum and bass sound.
Nikki Six was notorious for ripping off other people’s musical ideas! As a bass player he knew a great bass line when he heard it! He doesn’t deserve credit for Feelgood.
I Practically lived with them when they rehearsed in NJ and I booked them as the headliner for a live show / TV pilot that I produced in 89...sadly that never aired....and I picked them up on the side of Jersey Turnpike after their motorhome burnt down to the chassis.... FIRE FIRE!!
@@Insidethisvolcano Sadly no, I had to get into a lawsuit with my partner to get paid for the project and have never seen any of the footage from that night. :(
Wow what an awesome song havent heard it since late 80s h ball i remember gene promoting the album thanks gene for introducing them to america audiences
Very talented and interesting band. I was at a concert in Los Angeles. I know that there was a giveaway for a guitar from shoyo. Who painted it. I would have loved to have gotten that guitar it was gorgeous. I believe his guitars were pretty custom, not including the painting. I believe the singer Masaki lives in New York. Shoyo is in Florida. I had heard that he won the lottery and owned a Japanese restaurant in Florida. Don't know about the drummer and the basis
The EZO, Motley-Crue, Kiss discussion is unnecessary. Let's stop blaming the musicians and bands.🤘 🤘 Sometime in the eighties someone said : In the last 40 years, all riffs have already been played by someone. So it is now also with the basslines and the drums. After seventy years of rock n roll and metal played by hundreds of thousands of bands and millions of musicians, there will probably be nothing absolutely new. That's why I admire even more today's young bands who still find a way to give us good songs. Peace guys !
Loudness was pretty good but their vocalist and lyrics always made everything too cornball to thoroughly enjoy, and EZO also had that deeper aesthetic in their whole sound. They were the far better of the two bands.
Another band discovered and produced by Gene Simmons of Kiss. Van Halen was another. (It's interesting DLR is now opening for Kiss. They don't need an opening act.)
EZO, Loudness and Vow Wow were the 3 Japanese metal bands I got into... each was a bit different from the other. The Grunge movement kind of killed all these guys, sadly, because it's damn good music.
grunge didn't really have a direct influence on Japanese metal. they were already having their own underground visual key thing going on changing heavy scene
Love how whoever directed and/or edited this video has NO idea about how drums are played. You don't even have to be a musician to know the difference between a hi-hat and a cymbal or to know when the drummer hits the crash.
フラットバッカーもEZOも好きだ。世界がEZOに追いつけなかった。
Got that right!!!
Great kick ass metal band. This first album produced by, Gene Simmons.
These guys should have been WORLD FAMOUS, saw em twice, shook the drummers hand. Very tall Japanese guy. I will back these guys to the day I die!

THIS JAM NEVER GETS OLD!!!!!!!
Nope!!
Never!
Great band. Got to meet Masaki yamada when he was the singer in loudness. Nice dude.
Loudness, anthem and ezo are all great bands

カッコいいです♪自分は好きですね。
Awesome band. Love there image. They all look absolutely amazing.
Saw EZO open for Guns N Roses at the LOST HORIZON in Syracuse, NY when GNR first started touring...loved their music.
GnR was a no show on that tour when I went, but I saw EZO and White Lion
EZO did an awesome cover of Ace of Spades
滅茶苦茶カッコいい!
a very under estimated band
still love this song.....57 years old
I saw EZO back in 1988 in North Carolina.(Palomino Club). They did not look the same as in this video. They were pretty much trimmed down clothes wise. and they Rocked !
All that makeup stuff was gene simmons idea. He briefly managed the band
I will just say I used to walk around at night with this blasting through my walkman feeling bad ass. It’s a great drinking album. My spirit animal is Godzilla. I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so.
Thanks for posting this, my personal favorite from EZO, had no idea there was a video for it.
DESTROYER OOOOOOOOOON LEATHER WIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGS !!!!!!!! \m/ MAN , I MISS THIS BAND !!!!!!!
Killer Bass lines!!
Excellent video! Well done. Love this band and there was never a video for this most awesome song. Thanks!
God i miss these days. They certainly rocked and looked the part. Steve 👍

懐かしい🎵
maybe it does sound like "Dr. Feelgood" but this came out WAY before that
2.5 years before Motley Crud in fact, so if anything, Muttley sounds like EZO.
Nikki Sixx was a notorious ripoff artist!

@@philstone3859 yes & i read during that time Tommy lee said he liked EZO

A very heavy bass truly heavy metal tune. Full metal EZOist. Love the lyrics "dark fire, black fire" reminds me of Naruto.

Yes. It's mine and loudness crazy nights . But off this ezo album. Destroyer for sure.

Great tune.
So glad I saw them live!

Nikki six totally stole this bass line! This predates feel good by years! I know this is true. Nikki is famous for “borrowing “ rifts and ideas.
100% DFG is a rip of this song!
I alway thought he stole it from killing jokes" love like blood" which I think pre dates this.
@@jason8969, don’t know that one, but it sounds EXACTLY like this one!

Absolutely awesome. Talented and boy what an image. Remember having hair like that. Steve 👍
These guys were awesome!! I prefered them when they were 'Flatbacker' however. They had so much more energy in their music then...
Destroyer 80s metal yeah
Like ACDC, simple formula and it works very well
Damn that was awesome!
Best band in the world !!!
EZO deliverin the heaviness tones in japan..this year 2021
Opening drums & bass remind me of a song by Thin Lizzy.
There were so many other songs on this album that , needed a 'video'. EZO got 80's FUCT
AMAZING

Yep. Even the Flatbacker stuff was better.
Friar Talk I definitely agree. There first 2 albums were awesome.
both were Great Bands, BUT did you know the singer for EZO joined Loudness in 1992? left in 1999
@@MetalHeart8787 Another thing. Fucking Loudness has 29 albums!! Who the hell has that many records? Just saw that and it's pretty crazy.

Destroyah vs Godzilla? If he has this as his theme song Godzilla hasn't got a chance.

The whole sound and image of EZO is like Dead Or Alive meets Motley Crue.
GMDAEP EZO came first, the crue ripped them off.
grahamski Motley Crue came out in '81 EZO came out in '82
GMDAEP This song came out in '87 and BTW Crue came out first by 1 year
Mr. Omaha No, it didn’t. This came out before Dr. Feelgood, which came out in 1989.
EZO, Loudness and Vow Wow were the 3 Japanese metal bands I got into... each was a bit different from the other. The Grunge movement kind of killed all these guys, sadly, because it's damn good music.
Loudness is still around, so is Anthem, which is, for my money, the best Japanese metal band.
grunge didn't really have a direct influence on Japanese metal. they were already having their own underground visual key thing going on changing heavy scene
I never cared for Vow Wow like EZO or Loudness
