The Boonar Tube Deluxe is the result of several years work and consultation with some of the biggest names in guitardom. It brings all of the original Boonar magic up a notch, thanks to its dual-triode tube heart and several other important features. The Boonar Tube Deluxe is modelled on the classic Binson® Echorec® model 2 T7E and it also has features from its rack cousin, the P.E.603-T. You'll find full MIDI implementation and a tap-able 950ms of delay time. Expression control is onboard as well as USB for future firmware updates. There's a Wet Out jack that's balanced and transformer isolated for use with mixing desks and/or recording devices. Mostly, however, it's about capturing the unique sound from the classic, 60s Italian devices that inspired it, and I feel that Zoran and the DPE crew have really nailed it. You'll probably want one and who could blame you!

I already pre-ordered mine. Yes, it's crazy money but I had the honor of playing with an original Binson Echorec and it was magic. I have the Boonar and it's basically always on. So I could give up many other pedals but not that one and now with all these updates... it's a must-have for me. Can't wait to have it.

If I played clean more often I’d be all over this. Unfortunately those warm lush delays are kind of wasted on me. Hard rock and hard blues player here.

Wondering how it compares to the volante. Is it something that you could truly appreciate in a live setting vs just in your bed room .
I sincerely doubt it. Volante is (more or less) $400, this is $1,200. You'll not find a $800 difference soundwise. I have both the Volante and the original Boonar (bought both used) and paid less than half for what this new one costs.
Well I guess it can only do a drum setting, whereas the volante can do tape and studio tape, so it’s more focused and less versatile.
As for how the drum compares, yeah, I’m interested too! I’m especially keen to know how the valve actually ads to the sound.
I’m guessing there will soon be countless comparisons on TH-cam.

Yeah I have a pair of marshal and Fender tube amps running wet/dry behind an HXFX for that
I’d just get a cheaper stereo pedal, and use two of the normal Boonars, or two Catalinbread Echorecs.
There are some really cool stereo, analog delays, out right now, that can do so many things, for less than half that price.
If money wasn’t a thing, I’d like to hear snd feel it in person, to see how they justify that price.

it’s an investment. the build quality and what goes into making such a thing warrants the pricetag. it’ll easily hold value. it sounds phenomenal, like a Deluxe Memory Man / Echorec on steroids
For 1200 dolars would be nice to have stereo, at least.
That Magnatone sounds so dang good. Excellent choice to demonstrate the Boonar through. I’ve always had a soft spot for Echorec-style pedals & this is about the best I’ve ever heard. So many creative possibilities. Good stuff, thanks Burgs.

I felt sketchy about buying my Volante. Expensive. But I do love it. This Boonar thing is pricy like a good rifle. But it sounds amazing. And it's MIDI. Wow. They should send me one! Lol!

This unit was one of only two and had to go back to the factory post-video. There's another on the way (production model) so I'll go swell-happy for another vid when it shows up, hopefully before too long.
I had never heard of the binson echorec until Mick and Dan covered it on That Pedal Show. Still one of the best episodes, watching them lose it over the original unit they featured. “Epic!!”
I have the Boonar for years and an original 60’ Binson Echorec as well and they are definitely in the same ball park and IMO no other pedal maker come as close as Dawner Prince does , today I’ve paid the deposit for the Boonar deluxe , can’t wait to get it , thx for the great demo Brett , cheers from Phuket Thailand

Look unless you've got money to burn forget it there's much more cheaper delay options out there including what's built into your own amp which improve all the time by manufacturers
This is all a marketing ploy I'd say it's is a high end boutique pedal for.David Gilmour (who's utilized every worthy pedal & guitar sound imaginable)& the edge from u2 die hard Purists

It’s a cool pedal and sounds awesome. My only criticism is that once we are into that price range the T-Rex Binson Echorec becomes a competitor...

Pedal is great I’m sure….but price point feels off $800-900 maybe. I have old Boonar echorec, the volante, the guru Echosex 2T7e and 3 both with tubes….but for 1200 I might as well go the extra 900 and just get the Binson reissue
Why is it not stereo?
Are there menu options to add modulation separately to the aging knob so that you can get modulation without darkening the sound?

The Magnatone sounds great before you'd even stepped on the delay... nice unit mate, warm.. tails decay off beautifully.. and its flexible as.

Its good but doesn’t seem to have the magic of an original - clear but somewhat sterile. I will try it out though as you can’t always tell on You Tube. I have an original Binson Echorec into my 10-yr old Magnatone Stereo Twilighter (fantastic amp). For gigging I use a Catalinbread Echorec.
I’m sure this is awesome, has some great features over the normal Boonar…. but a bit out of my budget

Does it actually have tape and tape heads?
No tape as it's based on a drum delay but no it doesn't have a drum either. I think that like the Volante, it's a modelled delay tuned to sound , control and behave like an Echorec. They've also added a tube at the front end to warm up the sound. It may or may not sound exactly like what it's impersonating but it'll be a lot more reliable than a mechanical delay. Sounds great but I'll stick with the Volante as 1200 USD is too rich for me
@@pedalthang2079 Yes, it's pricey. I have the T.Rex Replicator Deluxe and I love the T.Rex Binson Echorec, but $2100 is way over my budget!
This is killer, but I dont think it would replace my Strymon Volante. The Volante is 1/3rd the price, can seamlessly switch between 2 presets, can pan the individual heads with no menu diving dead center to anywhere between left and right, and give me a looper to boot. Plus the Volante gives me drum, tape and studio delay modes with an additional spring reverb. I do however own that Magnatone amp and it's never leaving the studio!
I have the Boonar , the Echosex 2, the Binson echorec 1 (4 knobs) tube version and although the first two pedals sounding great they are quite different in comparison to the real one
