I have no idea how to play guitar, but if I did, I’d want to play a Jaguar, because I love jaguars (the animals). I’m sure that’s not the best way to decide, but oh well! 🐆 🎸
@@JediBunny you may have just solidified my next guitar, should I sell one of my current ones! They're smaller scale guitars too, so closer to the size of a little cat!
@@satellitesv03 I love this. So much!!!! One of the best acoustics I ever played was a Guild sold in Westerly, RI (where it was actually built). And as I navigate through life, my Mexican Strat might be my all time favorite as well. Thank you for watching!
Love this conversation, even outside guitar. Reminds me of when people say “dogs are better than cats” or vice versa, when truly it comes down to personal preference, perspective, personality, lifestyle factors, etc. I often think the Internet makes it too easy for elitist (or elitist-adjacent) individuals to voice their subjective opinions as though they’re objective without realising their own implicit bias. Then again, I’m a cat, so what do I know 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you so much for watching and listening! Thats exactly what I was going for - peoples online preferences and opinions can easily override personal feelings if we let it happen. The more we trust our own intuition, the more we can learn about what we truly love. It might even surprise us! It means a lot that you actually took time from your 22 hour naps, and had enough energy after the insane Zoomies 🥹🐈⬛
False dichotomy because elitists and purists are also playing the guitar they want. Also, when you want to criticize elitists or purists, not a great idea to open with "here's why I still love my jazzmaster", especially with that tone/voice.
Thank you for watching the video. I appreciate it. My hope was to illustrate the difference between an elitist & a purist, because there certainly is overlap. And, ultimately, land on the notion of, play whatever guitar you want, as long as you love & enjoy playing it. To this day, if i had it with me out west, I'd grab my 90s Mexican Strat 95% of the time. If my tone & voice painted a different picture, hopefully this text resonates with you a little better. Hope you're doing well
@@coffeefoxx The title of this video reads "Elitists vs purists vs playing the guitar you want" The reason I pointed out that this is a false dichotomy is because, despite various attempt at creating false categories, ultimately, "elitists and purists" are also merely just playing the guitar that they themselves want to play, so there is no "versus" here, it's mere clickbait.
Thank you for your reply. Clickbait was not my intention; I wanted to list my video topics while exemplifying contrast; not necessarily pitting things against each other in an exclusionary sense as you interpreted. I’m new to TH-cam and still learning. I see you don’t have a channel yourself, but as you’ve taken such umbrage with my approach, having watched my video, do you have any suggestions as to how I could better title it? Hope you’re doing well
What’s your favorite guitar to play, despite what an “elitist” may think? 🎸☕️🦊

I’ve got some pricey guitars, but right now my favorite is a guild guitar. I got for 260 bucks on Reverb.
