I myself quite enjoy using the twist of Eldritch Blast, but it has eldritch effects on matter immediately struck by the blast, such as atoms in whatever is directly struck by the blast disassembling and reassembling repeatedly for a minute, spatiotemporal anomalies occurring in the surrounding area for an equivalent of five minutes, or other mildly horrifying things. Or putting an eldritch twist on any eldritch magic, for that matter, just to quietly horrify the DM and most of the party even more. Also, technically speaking, if the spell “heat Metal” works on any metal that isn’t adamantine or otherwise magically impervious, and the mammalian body contains iron, manganese, calcium, copper, zinc, magnesium, and several other metals, so, make of that what thou wilt.
It's less "I cast rocket launcher!" & more "I cast INCINERATE THAT GENERAL AREA! what? 'that general area is the entirety of the tiny closet we've miraculously crammed the whole party into?' _D i d I S t u t t e r"_

Firebolt is more concentrated and less explosive, I don't understand why mages don't use it instead of fireball.
Yeah. I mean, barrelmancy is stronger than fireball anyway. And more reliable.
firebolt 1d10 damage, can miss, can only hit one guy
