Yeah first time I saw him I was 17 at Edgefest in Barrie Edges of Twilight was just out and I was right up front in the mosh pit normally I would get crushed but my boyfriend was 6'2 and stood behind me so I could enjoy the show it was hypnotic after a day in the sun we had minor heat stroke I think they actually came out twice with a hose and watered us down in the front. We're lucky he's Canadian more accessible for us.
Wow!!! This is amazing!!! You know, I never thought he looked, sounded or 'felt' like Jim. I've listened to The Doors for 35 years and the only thing I can figure out as a comparison is the Esoteric knowledge factor? Or similar life path, maybe? I think Jeff has quite the better handle on Self awareness and the Etheric than Jim did, but he's also had more time on the earthly plane in this lifetime...Heh. Can you say tangent? ;) Anyway, thanks for the posts!
Dammit, as proud as I am that he's canadian, I feel like he could of got the fame he deserves if he was an american, us Canadians hardly ever get recognized for brilliance in the music industry
I agree! There's very talented Canadian harp player, David Rotundo. He is as good as any other american harp players celebrities, but just a few people know him outside Canada.
So lucky to have him live in Australia and see him so often. One of the greatest musicians ever, and a shining light of integrity for his art and passion. Thank you Canada :)
A little known fact about Mr. Martin. He was once the front man of a Doors cover band called "The Backdoors" in Toronto. However, after the success of "The Tea Party," he grew tired of repeatedly being asked if he's trying to mimic Jim Morrison's look and singing style. To this day, he dares not mention his history in the cover band years earlier. He was obviously a fan.
The audience is motionless... dead quiet.... got to be in a trance. Jeff Martin could put 6 strings on an old dried up piece of dog shit and make it sound like... like frickin' awesome! Incredible artist. Thanks for the post.
after this I'd go see him play the phone book. acoustic guittar and in his hands, a lethal weapon! damn near killed me from 1500 miles and 9 years away.
Let's get the facts straight - In My Time Of Dying & Nodody's Fault But Mine were first recorded in the late 1920's by Blind Willie Johnson - and these traditional gospel blues songs are probably older than him. Victoria Spivey wrote Black Snake Blues.
Well, the thing with slide is that it causes the string above your slide to start ringing too, so even if you're muting the string with your hand, the part of the string that is above your slide will make noise. I'm actually kinda curious about how he does this.
Could someone explain to me why he doesn't use one of his fingers behind his slide? I seems kind of weird to me that he does that without causing a lot of underwanted noise.
Jeff Martin is a fk'n mind blowing talent! He's the whole package, with his amazing vocals, musical prowess, and good looks.
I think hes the best rock singer we have left
Jeff Martin singing the Doors, wow!!!!.....I have died and gone to heaven!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! So rare.
I hope i'm not the only one who hears a LOT of Morrison in how he sings, it's magnificent.
also in songs like temptation i hear a lot of morrison in his voice. a great musician Jeff Martin is.
mos' def Jim. I also hear an echo or two of Robert Plant. Not in any way bad. See the TEA Party live and back on tour! 2019
What a breath of fresh air, someone that plays with creativity and in his own way, with a whole lotta love and soul :)
WOW!!!!! That DOORS COVER!!!!

Trust Me, Jim Morrision had a son.. He called him Jeff Martin then recorded, "This is the End"
Damn... badass...
J.M. for jim Morrison or J.M. for jeff Martin what a coincidence
Thanks*
Jeff sounds more like Jim, could this be possible?
This is what you're looking for, 6:00
'Incredible' seems to be way too short to desribe what happens here ...
But I must admit that I am not able to think of something adequate.
Geeee!!!!!
As god as!
still sad i missed the last Bris gig :-(
Best with a Glass of Whisky or playing as Twisted Fate..

@adammckinty No problem :)
Could someone explain to me why he doesn't use one of his fingers behind his slide? I seems kind of weird to me that he does that without causing a lot of underwanted noise.

Must be muting strings with his picking hand.
