@@DanielGreeneReviews I know you had mixed feelings about the first Black Company book you read & reviewed but any hope you'll review more Black Company books in 2025? Same with the two sequels to Prince of Thorns. I really enjoyed your Prince of Thorns review & hope to see you eventually do videos about the last two books in that trilogy🤞🤞
@@DanielGreeneReviews Thanks Daniel. It's actually because of your Prince of Thorns review that I went & picked up all 3 books in that series. I was hugely intrigued by how you spoke about Prince of Thorns that I just had to check those books out myself. Haven't finished reading them but I'm really liking them so far.
I really appreciate you going to the worldhopper ball despite it being overwhelming. Meeting you there wasn’t just a highlight of the convention but a highlight of my entire year! Your channel got me into the wheel of time and reading Brandon Sanderson. It inspired me to start writing which has been a source of so much joy over the years for me and gives me a purpose and creative outlet. Thank you so much and I’m very glad I got to meet you and thank you in person!
You were so gracious when I came up to you to get my Neon Ghosts signed, thanks so much! The con was once-in-a-lifetime experience for me between meeting so many of my favorite authors, the immersive wedding ball, the story cards, and meeting booktube friends -- they really hit it out of the park.
Gonna double down on what Daniel said about Dragonsteel not being overwhelming. In my youth I used to frequent anime expo every year, and it's just a madhouse. After my time in the service I can't even imagine doing something with that many people without losing it, and I was nervous but optimistic about nexus. And yea, there were a lot of people, but you never felt lost in a sea of faces, plus everyone was really friendly and the place had a great vibe overall. Will be gunning for a ticket next year for sure.
Thanks for stopping by the booth, and for shouting us out! We'd be happy to hook you up with the full decks any time. Glad to hear you also had such a great time at Dragonsteel Nexus! 🐲⚔❤
Thank you so much Daniel! It was an absolute pleasure meeting you, and thank you for the shoutout! You’re a genuine gem of a human, and you add so much positivity to this space! Meeting you and seeing you come by my booth was a highlight of the con!
Re Wheel of Time: I absolutely agree with you about episode count. 8 episodes is just not enough time. Game of Thrones had 10 episodes a season and also started falling off the wagon when they cut that episode count down. IT's just not enough time to get invested so things move like a whip or slow down like a slug, and theres no middle ground. These fantasy epics need 10 episodes at least, and even then I think Wheel of Time - or a potential Stormlight Archive - could benefit from 13 or even 15 episodes. A big reason why we're seeing 8 episodes over the past few years, is because the writers guild asked for move money per episode after 8 episodes (this is why ROP was cut down to 8 after initially being given 10.) The most recent writers strike pushed for more money per episode after 6 episodes, and wouldya-know it, now we're seeing 6 episode seasons of TV... I don't blame the writers for this, they're trying to get what they deserve and make a living in a broken system. I blame the studio heads, producers, and money people at these massive corporations for finding loopholes that hurt everyone. Just pay the writers, give them more time, let them on set, and make good media. But nope, it'll always be save a dime first, and so we better get ready for 6 episode seasons in the coming years
While I agree with this, it's also a matter of making the best use of the allotted time. Adding unnecessary story lines or spending entire episodes on new or unimportant characters/events is not really making the best use of the already limited time...
It's not just about the episode count though, the showrunner/writers have to be willing to adapt it faithfully and avoid changing things to make it their own. We can absolutely blame the showrunner/writers when they spent episodes on new content (eg Stepin's episode and Lan being a weeping baby on his knees) and then complain they have to cut stuff because there are so few episodes.
@@faithfaraday Largely yes, some chopping & changing, but that doesn't mean they couldn't have stuck to the content of the books (for the most part); they didn't even try and it really shows.

I was at the Worldhopper's Ball the same night as Daniel and I didn't know it was Jackson until a panel the next day. It was awesome to get insulted by him walking into the event.
I picked up Star Trek: TNG recently, and after seeing so many shows come out with perhaps 8 episode run times I feel absolutely spoiled. In between moments where I watch characters actually develop as people I'm treated with small moments where they play cards, teach each other to dance, extrapolate on their separate cultures, and so on. Nowadays we're lucky to get a second season, and TNG has seven, not counting the movies. Sure, the effects are odd sometimes, and not every plot line is stellar, but overhaul the experience is effecting me in away that many modern day television adaptations are incapable of doing, outside of the typical "wow" factor.
There's a lot of great trek out there. deep space nine is just as good as tng if not better and enterprise and voyager have their moments too. Even some of the new stuff has been great lower decks and prodigy were stellar

Can't wait for the upcoming Black Company book by Glen Cook. I binge read the entire series AND his Garrett P.I. series. Both are great! The latter series is a particularly fun read with dramatic elements (Raymond Chandler meets Tolkien).

As much as I prefer the covers that I’m used to, I must say that the artist who’s doing the current run of DCC covers is a genius. The neon looks great and will pop off any shelf they’re placed on, whether book store, booktuber background, or friend’s bookcase, prompting curiosity. They’re really growing on me.
I missed meeting you at Dragonsteel :( I think i saw your booth was busy the first day and i also just got shy the rest of the weekend. It was fun to see you at some of the panels though!
As somebody who sells books for a living, the Goodreads awards actually seem pretty good. Those have definitely been the most loved releases of the year.
@@gauravshahi6334 That's a very difficult questions. It's excellent, but then again so were the others. Personally one of my favorite is RoW, and I think WaT tops it. I haven't fully processed it yet, but I think it's probably my favorite Stormlight book.
Episode counts are only 1 issue. Another, MAJOR, issue is that these "adaptations" take so many liberties that they barely resemble the source material anymore. Like, congrats Wheel of Time Amazon! You got the names of the characters right! Another season for you! Yeah. This was a series I had so much hope for, but the showrunners and writers just had to change so much of it, that it barely resembled the story I loved to read, over and over again. And yes, I know that changes need to be made for adaptations. The changes here though, changed the entire narrative of the story, needlessly.
Some day I will be able to attend to Dragonsteel and meet great people such as Daniel, meanwhile I hope recordings of the events get posted so I can watch.
Is was awesome meeting you at Dragonsteel Daniel! I talked to a couple random fans on the flight home and they also mentioned meeting you was a highlight of their convention! Glad you had a good time! P.S. I realized later that you signed my copy of neon ghost twice, bringing the total number of DG signature up to 3.5 (including book mark). Might bring that to future convention and see how hi we can get that count to go!
Looking forward to the Wheel of Time, can't wait for someone to try and adapt that book series. There's a reason its never been attempted though, given the length and complexity involved.
Thank you so much for sharing the cover Danny dude!

I really like the lighting in this one! Really appreciate your work
I was so envious of everyone who went to DragonSteel, so many fun people I know went.
So I’m gonna try to make it next year
Thanks for the news, Daniel! I wasn't able to go to Dragonsteel, but I'm hoping to next year! It looks amaaazing!
You are amazing!! Just getting into the cosmere cause of your videos!! So excited!! Keep up the great work!!
I don’t know what you did with your hair, but keep doing it! I did a double take of your thumbnail cause you be looking so glowed up! 👌👌👌
I love thenerdyalchemist’s work so very much!
I finished Wind and Truth in just over 2 days. It was excellent.
Where would you rank it among other SA books?
Rank the books?
@@gauravshahi6334 That's a very difficult questions. It's excellent, but then again so were the others. Personally one of my favorite is RoW, and I think WaT tops it.
I haven't fully processed it yet, but I think it's probably my favorite Stormlight book.
Lies Weeping is a weird name for a cookbook, but I'm excited to try out some new recipes. Must be out of this world.
Great week for news + book drops! What a time to be alive
Currently at chapter 91 of Wind and Truth. I’ve been absolutely loving it, thanks for getting me into the series
The fantasy news must flow
Looking forward to the Wheel of Time, can't wait for someone to try and adapt that book series. There's a reason its never been attempted though, given the length and complexity involved.
CANNOT WAIT for the official video from the Worldhoppers Ball to drop on Sandersons channel, lol.
Are you sure sanderson isnt spying on you, he knows exactly even when you are about to sleep.
