I have a Seiko 5 Field Watch (7S36-03J0) that looks similar to the SNK809. It's my most favorite GADA watch, and I wear it more often than other higher-end Seiko models in my collection. I think the review on the SNK809 is unfair. It's Hardlex crystal is already a good feature for it. Why would he expect Sapphire glass for a less-than-$100 Seiko field watch? Why compare it's aesthetics with a Bambino or Eco-drive dress watch that costs three times more? Comparing apples to oranges?
You’re way off! I own several of these watches for years now and the quality and durability are much better than you suggest. You seem to forget style is a personal preference! Your images and descriptions do not always match leading to confusing and misleading info! Bit of a hack job reviewing these watches if you ask me!
These days, Tissot has some excellent choices. Once upon a time, Seiko became famous as the go to brand for those who wanted a decent watch for a fair price. But now that they are pushing for Swiss kind of money, their QC seems to have gone down the toilet. For instance, my £15 plastic Casio does not suffer from a misaligned bezel. Why can't Seiko achieve that?
i never got the love for modern seiko, i always thought they are pretty generic watches and not particularly good value either. The old models at least had some utilitarian feel to them but the new ones have no charm at all to me.
Some watch critics scoff at Hardlex. Some say it's just an overhyped version mineral crystal. But in reality, Hardlex is about 40% harder than mineral crystal and more than 130% harder than acrylic Hardlex hardness comparison compared to diamond, and with other watch crystals: Diamond --- 10 mohs Sapphire crystal --- 9 mohs Hardlex crystal --- 7 mohs Mineral crystal --- 5 mohs Acrylic crystal --- 3 mohs
Hardlex is simply a euphemism for “ plastic”. Seiko is a brand that offers many choices. The buyer should define what they want from a watch and proceed. Do your homework and make an informed decision. “Caviat emptor” ! Once you figure out what you want, chances are you will end up with a Seiko on your wrist and a smile on your face ! Enjoy the journey.
Acrylic is plastic. It was used in vintage watches, and today, in mass-produced cheap watches. Hardlex, on the other hand, is a heat-hardened mineral glass. 40% harder than normal mineral crystal.

This was what i was looking for in your vids. ✌🏼😅 I agree with the snk809. The only positive thing i can say about it is that the type-B flieger dial designs are so scarce so the dial on this looks cool. (cuz most i see in the market are type-A).
I wear the SNK809 everyday. You are completely wrong about it.

Agree, some of these so called reviews are just so off, I have the watch and wear it daily to my work, I have 6 seikos and cannot fault them at all

A watch is pretty much jewelry now. Most people check the time on their phone.
The creator here just out of idea in making a video about seiko 😂😂
You mixed up the Sumo and Kinetic clips back and forth.
