Cholkettu

Cholkettu is an invocatory piece that begins with a salutation to Lord Ganesha - the elephant headed God who shines with the brilliance of a million suns.
The focal part of the composition is an elaborate dance routine set to rhythmic syllables or chollu. The piece concludes with a prayer to Goddess Saraswathi pleading her to come and reside in the dancer's heart and mind and remove all ignorance and ego.
