I just turned 50 years old (April 2021) and I love this anime. I was in my 30s, circa 2001, when I found Fushigi Yuugi. I absolutely fell in love with every aspect of it. You didn't have to be a prepubescent teen to fall in love with this anime.

I'm 29 now and introduced it to my 13 tears old niece last year(still in the middle of watching it because we promised to watch it together). This is her first legendary shoujo anime.
The fact that they interlaced the intro of this song to the last few seconds of each episode was pure genius. It increases the suspense and makes you look forward to the next episode even more. They don't make ending songs like this anymore. (T^T)

I spent about 9 hours once making a family tree with the genealogy in Genesis 10 and writing down the forefathers of the world. - Muslims and Jews are basically the only people who remembered everything (although looking at any ancient mythology and making a chart about the stories that sound similar is super eye-opening). So I have the highest respect for them. My ancestors, also forgot everything- being German I'd probably be a break off of the Assyrians- whom are all descendants of Ashur, Noah's grandson by his first son. There might have been some Hitite ancient lineage there, - being from Heth, Noah's grandson from his second son, or coastline people from Japheth - the third son, but seriously, looking at all that genealogy there, it's kinda sad that only the descendants of Ishmael and Israel remembered all that in the end. Everyone else kinda passed on the information like a telephone game and forgot the most important parts. So basically, we should all treat each other like long lost siblings with gentleness and respect.
Yeah, same goes for me. This is a spectacular ending theme. It sucks you into the entire Tamahome x Miaka relationship while getting you pumped for the next episode. ♥
On an interesting debate, what do you think is the better show Fushigi Yuugi or Akatsuki no Yona? Both have a wonderful show but I wonder which would outdo the other. Personally I love Fushigi Yuugi, but I also love the new show too! I can't choose! ^_^

Or Tamahome, someone who was one of the main guys because they had a huge gash over their chest near their heart and it was accepted to be a way of giving blood lol - even 10 year old me new better

Used to watch this during my school years. The dubbed version was called The Curious Play. Still brings a smile on my face, even today. I particularly remember the first time I heard this, when Tamahome was kicking all kinda a** protecting Miyaka. Thank you for the fond memories.
