Bought a used ‘05 WK three years ago and installed a catch can (BilletTechnologies) on the Hemi right away. Every oil change I empty about a third of a cup of oil out of the can! I learned about CC’s from TH-camr videos. Thanks Y’all!
I need to stop watching this channel you’re making go broke buying all these things for my Jeep I didn’t know I needed 😂 enter me in for the drawing please!🤙🏼
I put one on my ‘17 jku a month ago with 36k on it. Just did an oil change and in one month the amount it caught was astounding. I did use an actual fitted kit with hoses and bracket by mishimoto. It was eye opening enough for me to comfortably recommend a catch can of any sort to fellow Jeepers, or any car for that matter.
Like Ford, in their 6.7 from 2011-present, is still using a CP4 pump that will burst & brake up & inject metal shavings throughout the entire fuel system/engine - to the point the owner will have to pay $10K-12K to remedy. Ford knows this CP4 is a bust, but like their 6.0 engines, they do not care because their dealerships made bank off the frequent repairs. Ford sales a disaster prevention kit (LOL) for a truck that people paid $70K-90K. Great Ford. Really "Built Ford Tough". Now I hear that the Mopar 3.6L consumes oil like the vehicle just ate marijuana brownies & oil is its only appetite suppressor. So an oil catch can is most likely needed so one does not burn their motor up because the engine is "baked" (pun intended) & eating all the oil. People buy brand new vehicles at premium prices to buy POS's & have to modify their new vehicles to allow them actual longevity. Maybe the car moguls are wanting to build crap so we will all think EV is the way to go. IDK, but the post herein has validity & I am pissed because I own all motors herein (6.0, 6.7 & 3.6). IMHO
Watched the video and it reminded me to put on on. I'm going to mount mine closer to the engine so it stays warm and doesn't freeze up. The Joy of canadian winters
Inspiring channel to do hands on work on my Jeep Jk. Thank you man for giving us all this material to work with. You are awesome. Don’t ever quit making JK videos!
I saw this and put one of these in, get almost 1/2 a cup oil after just a 1200 miles or so. I got from UPR Products and came with really nice hoses and easy to remove to empty.
Hey, I’d like to be entered or something. I’d love to install it on my own JK to keep that engine sparkling clean! Love the content, keep up the great work!
I really appreciate this video. I have been seeing people use catch cans recently, and you did a great job of explaining it's purpose. Thanks a million.
Thanks for the follow up with the JT visor on a catch can. Your video with the JK surprising the amount of oil sent back into the intake. Thumbs up to your channel and content.
My wife and I just got a Jeep and we want to go to hidden falls. We’re very inexperienced and would love to join y’all on a trip. Love the channel guys keep the videos coming !!!
Just got my 1st Jeep it's ATJ 2.4 l 6 speed manual when I always wondered about the catch CAD now I'm definitely gonna get it thank you guys loved the video
GOOD DAY FROM OREGON, JUST WATCHED THE VIDEO, GREAT PRODUCT FOR ANY VEHICLE, I HAVE FOUR CHEVYS AND A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT, THANK YOU AND YOURS FOR ALL THE VIDS.
I have always despised pcv systems because of the whole concept of sending that filth back into my engine. I had no idea this even existed. Thank you so much for the great info. Also I’d like to be entered and win or something.
I had honestly never heard of this option... Awesome information. Toss my name in the hat. Appreciate all the info you guys put out! Maybe one day I'll run into you guys at a Jeep meet here in Texas.
Glad you are showing a cheap way to do this. But I still think there is no benefit. Good on you for not pushing one of those expensive cans. For 30 bucks, it has low expense to go with the low (or no) benefit. I always enjoy your videos!
@@JKGearandGadgets I think you'd have that anyway. Most carbon build up and oil build up would be there anyway. My 2008 Jeep 3.8 is clean as can be after 145k miles. Mobil 1 oil and Top Tier fuel had everything to do with it. But still, there's absolutely no harm in a catch can. So why not? Again, love your videos!
Thank you. I ordered the very can you have listed in the description. It looks great especially for $28 compared to some other name brands that are over $100. I installed it on my 2016 JKU today and fabbed a bracket from some aluminum angle stock I had left over from another project. I mounted it in the same place you have yours on your JK. I removed the OEM bolt on the fender (where your Switch Pro pod mounts) and put a bracket there to hold the can between the ECM and the brake module.
Nice video Ben! I want to personally thank you for finally explaining in detail how the PCVsystem works. I ordered the plug and play model from your link, thank you again! And say hi to Cassie for me! The North East sure missing you! But you gotta go to Texas. Just as long as you dont become Dallas Cowboys fans! Lol!
Planning on installing one in my truck, so of course I'd like an entry. Great video except for 1 thing, the oil is going to destroy the heater hose. You need hose that is meant to handle oil.
Always good to see that you’re always doing something new something different something better in your jeeps and your wife’s jeep love you guys show keep up the good work and be safe
Great product...👍🏻it’s on my wish list, to install on my wife’s new gladiator, AWESOME VIDEO, watch and like all your videos, good job great channel and information! 😃🤙🏻
You can throw my name in there as well. I need one for my wife’s JL and then one for my LJ. It would be nice to only have to buy only one....lol. Love the videos, both of y’all keep up the awesome work!!
hey Ben keep up the great work. your videos have help me in my build. I have a 2009 JKU on 37 's I love it. so glad y'all moved to Texas. we are in west Texas hope to meet y'all in person some time. Thanks again
I'd like to be entered or something, lol. It would be my first engine type mod for my JL Willys. Keep up the great works and as always enjoy yours and your wife's videos.
I don’t want tell anybody how to work on their own rigs but I’d recommend silicone heater hose as oil can brake down the rubber in typically heater hoses
Enter me too please! Not just the residual oil going into the intake makes it messy, but that oil can create deposits of carbon on intake values & can cause values to stick. Lol that I was the only person to invert pcv & pvc!
Thank you for the video and thank you for adding the link to the specific hose that you got. I was able to go to Lowe’s and get some heater hose in 10 foot length and I’m ready to boogie and install this. Keep up the good work.
I'm really glad you put this video up, some folks in my jeep club have been asking about them. Great info as always! Enter me, please, and thank you for the great content as always.
I just recently bought a JKU and started looking up TH-cam videos and came across your channel. The videos are great I just watched the ones about the headliner and the J.W. Speaker head lights. I'll definitely be doing the headliner. The headlights are great but a little pricey for me. I'm sure I'm to late for the catch can give away but if not woo-hoo I have a chance lol. Thanks for the great info on the JK. I just noticed hood the shocks on your JK hopefully the is a video on it. I'm going to look now haha
Heck yeah I would liked to be entered Ben . I would use it either on my wife's 07 JK or my 03 TJ . Thank you for sharing your experience with using one . Take care and be safe guy's .
Hey guys. Love your videos. I watched the one when you first bought the LJ. I just recently bought a 2004 LJ myself. I had been searching for quite a while and finally found one. This is basically my dream Jeep. I've never heard of a catch can, looks like something that would be really beneficial for my Jeep. Soooooo I would like to be considered in your giveaway. Thanks so much for all your awesome videos.
Best for turbo charged motors because of increased cylinder pressure increasing blow by. And only helps direct injection engines from gunking up intake valves over time.
This is a common mod on 7.3s also know as a CCV mod. Crank case ventilator. Some guys dump to atmosphere simimar to semis but end up with a truck smelling like oil and smoking. Also whats important is to nevet let the oil freeze in cold climates otherwise your crank pressure will sky rocket and you could throw your spark plugs or injectors. So to remedy this keep it close to your engine to maintain warm oil in cold climates.

Ha, you would win if 'twas up to me.
Thank you, I had kinda written off a catch can as not necessary, but having watched this, I've changed my mind!

Installed JLT oil catch can on my 2016 JKUR. I get about 1-2oz oil collected every month! Yes they work. Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY!!!

I always thought the same way, until we opened up the Ls engine and spent 6+ hours cleaning up years of oil and carbon buildup.

I'm totally doing this for my YJ and my 3.6 Charger now. Great video. Love both of channels you guys have!
Very nice install. I like very much. I’m all about losing the oil out of the PCV System. Thanks!
Been watching for a little while, love you guys!
Its insane how a universal one is soo cheap but the JK kits are like 10x more expensive. Already on Amazon...

I could always use a catch can! Great work guys!
I'm overhauling my WJ and the oil catch can is on the list of upgrades. It is a list, after all it's a 20 year old 4x4. Can't imagine the CRUD inside.
I could use one myself. Love the the channel bud, and Cassie's too.

Thank you for the video and thank you for adding the link to the specific hose that you got. I was able to go to Lowe’s and get some heater hose in 10 foot length and I’m ready to boogie and install this. Keep up the good work.
You noticed any negative effects of having a catch cam or did you find that you had to replace a standard fuel line with a steel braided line?
@@gsdls You don't need a steel braided line, just a 5/8 standard hose. Mine has lasted for nearly 3 years and is good as new.
FYI the Lowe’s brand is no good cause it’s not for Under the hood application. It collapses on itself. I ordered the one recommended here.
I prefer to vent DIRECTLY into the atmosphere 👍👍 make sure I do my part.
