The GPR V5 Steering Stabilizer dampens, or controls the side-to-side sweep motion of the handle bars. It's the 5th generation damper, and installs nicely under your handlebars out of harm's way.

Great Review Jim! I really want to install one of these in the near future. I also have the same tire up front and will be adding RideOn slime to help with balancing.

@@exploready it was a massive pain in the arss. Tried to do it without using heat, it made it worse. Lol
I ended up using a heat gun to cook those damn bolts

I too have the same tire setup .. motoz ralz rear + dual venture on the front. Wobble exists beyond 70mph. I cant enjoy this bike anymore as i used to using the OEM tires. I am going back to something 50-50 next. I cant sacrifice the road enjoyment for little bit of more offroad grip.

Prathap - Sorry to hear that! You articulated it perfectly...I felt like I was really sacrificing road enjoyment as well. Just tense, and on edge.
So far, and it's early in my usage, I'm really happy with the steering stabilizer, but will update as time goes on.
Ride safe - Hopefully you can get some enjoyment back!

I have ridden mine out in the Mojave with the OEM tires. There is a learning curve, but it definitely is doable. I'm an intermediate rider. I feel with alot of repetitive practice, one can learn to master the bike in the sand, even on the OEM tires. I almost want to master the bike in the sand, (with the OEM tires), just because. Like, skill building. I bought the Motoz Desert IT specifically for the sand, though. I may use those, in combination with the GPR stabilizer for full on, Desert rides, such as the LA to Barstow to Vegas but on more ADV long distance rides I definitely will stick to stock OEM tires. Period.

Great video, thanks for sharing your thoughts. What tire pressures you tend to run on the street?

I pretty much run the the pressures listed in the manual (29psi f/36psi r). I generally don't air-down when riding off-road, although if I was going to be riding lots of sand, I might.

FWIW, all the demo Tuaregs at ADV fest were on OE tires, so Aprilia must have some confidence in them. For me, I like to stack the deck in my favor to offset my poor skill level ;)
