What a well placed , and timed, video . When an Alabama boy just pursued his love of , and talent with the blues , and transported it to Florida , and ultimately to Southern Calif. it was bound to be recognized , and rewarded with a huge following . What an impact this man had upon the blues scene . I will be missing him dearly in the months & years ahead .
I probably saw James 40 times, all over California, from 1984 on, when he had a regular band and much later with local backing musicians. I particularly salute Nathan and Mike (as well as Kirk Fletcher) for playing with James after all of the band turnover, including the late Hollywood Fats, followed by the Kid, the late Willie J Campbell and Stephen T. Hodges. James was a unique talent, who I miss very much. I hope that he’s having a time in Blues Heaven with BB and Juke Logan!
A nice tribute to James Harman, thank you! The first and only time I saw him perform was in Surrey, BC, a suburb of Vancouver, BC...enjoyed his show...took lots of photos which I shared with him... RIP Mr James Harman, thanks for the memories! 💕
I remember a night after one of our gig's down south, we walked into his late show after we were done, and he calls us up, and then asks Kid and Fats to hand us their guitars to play a couple tunes, while they took a breather........The band was so cool to just go with it.........I almost fainted, I was so nervous! I can't remember whose guitar I played, but I think I played Fat's, and Tom played Kid's. ..... Super guy and always a great band!...... It was, to say the least, one of many memorable nights with King James!
Had the pleasure of emailing with James after his Liquor Parking album came out (and he was in treatment) and I’m sorry that I missed that he had passed. Please check out that album, with lyrics written in the studio.
James Jimmy was like that kind of Guy who was on a mission to live love AND enjoy the blue's clues. OJ his dad said James would be happy to sing sit and stand with his blue's music 🎶🎼. I knew him when he and his band played weekend nights at the high School. He's just One of a kind. Having fun with his show...they packed the venue by Tommy Oliver football stadium. I'm sorry he's gone but I know he followed his dream until he made it reality.m
I sure miss my old gulf coast buddy and mentor. I always wanted him to write a book about all the stories he told me about the old masters. I sure had the time of my life recording firecracker with james there producing at Nathan’s studio. We had fun when he was on the East Coast. A quick wit storyteller.
MISS HIM!!
James was the best of the best

Thank you!! I would not be where I am today musically without James Harman. His music was a huge influence.
RIP ❤
