Thank you Leo, cookies always worried me, especially when Avast warns you that you have a tracking cookie! You explain things very well and make them easy to understand.
Thanks Leo, but I was hoping you would venture into the thorny realms of dynamic pricing where the cost of something you researched on a previous occasion suddenly increases when you return to buy it a few days later! ;-)
When it comes to online searches and wanting to discourage third-party cookies from following me with Ad content, I use the Firefox browser in the Private mode. Ad content from third-party cookies (when I don't use Firefox private mode) are annoying since chances are I've already obtained the goods and services I sought out in my web searches, so those Ads are appearing too-late on my web browser. In other words, the Ads are appearing 'after-the-fact.'
Good points but Google is too much in our lives and way too politically tied to big governments. I've switched off chrome and Google searches. I've bought and used Google products for years and like to support non monopolies when possible.

If cookies bother you don't accept them and/or at the end of your session delete them. Just remember that one way or another the piper will be paid.
Don't forget that your cookies that the ad services put information on can and often will contain your location data. hmmm...
And the consequence of that is?

What's the difference-securitywise- between signing in with Google account and signing in with a password? What are your recommendations?

How can I allow "session cookies" with the edge browser but block all other cookies ?
I don't know of a way. There's nothing special about "session" cookies to differentiate them from other cookies. It's just about how they're used.
@@askleonotenboom Thank You
cookies are just the part of everyday life now🙂
Cookie theft aka stealing the cookies for gmail account in order to hack it ? What is the best defense against that ?
The real question is do you have Java with your cookies?
If you don't want notifications from the website, don't accept cookies
