If the croquis was drawn to scale, people would be paying more attention to the person in the drawing, than what they're wearing. The traditional 10 headed figure already gives the implication that it is a fashion illustration as opposed to a portrait.
+Nina Dees What I was told in fashion school (this was 10 years ago) is that fashion designers shifted towards taller and thinner female models in the sixties because if there are no breast jiggling and hips swaying when the model walked it put more of the attention on the clothes themselves. If they're tall it's easier for people to see more of the clothing, you've got more vertical workspace. But croquis (fashion illustrations) have been made impossibly tall and slender for years before the shift was made in the 60's. I've seen typical croquis proportions used as far back as 1910. I'm not saying you're wrong about croquis being the reason why models are as tall and slender as they are, it's just that I doubt it since croquis have been the way they are half a century before the rising of the model body we see today.
i'm sorry I'm just going to be straightforward and practical. "underweightness"of models distracts me from the clothing, my initial association is - look at them they look so sad and starved and clothes is just hanging instead of being nicely fit
shantife I am a size zero, and have fit into model sized clothing (wedding dresses that came from the original runway show during trunk shows while interning at a bridal shop) and I can assure you, having always been a size zero and xs my whole life, that we are by no means starving ourselves to fit into our clothing. I eat regularly, I eat out maybe twice a week as well, I eat fruit as snacks instead of chips, I don't eat past the point of being full, and I work out on occassion. During highschool and my childhood I always played some form of sport, gymnastics, softball, lacross, track, ballet, hip hop etc. If I want to be fit and toned, i'd work out every day. All it takes is an active lifestyle to be an xs or size zero. Sometimes it's just genes and a metabolism. Don't assume all extra smalls, model sizes, or models in general are "starving themselves" it's really offensive to us, as well as people who are ACTUALLY having to deal with eating disorders. also if it looks like clothing is "hanging" it was designed that way. If a pattern was meant to be super fitted there would be darts in it everywhere. that's what makes clothing fitted. no darts-hang. before a runway show there are multiple fittings to make sure the clothing FITS custom to the model on the runway, as it is INTENDED to.

Very interesting, I love how interpretive and unique art can be. Some of these styles aren't my thing and I have a very hard time understanding them, but that's why I love it. Reeeally cool.
They have the coolest style! I was a part of a prep team to get the models ready for shows & what is really crazy is it takes 4 hrs to get everyone ready and the show lasts less than 15 minutes. That was the most shocking thing for me about going to my first NYFW shows.
Really loved their chemistry. They both were different but meshed well and could appreciate all the shows and each other's styles! That's what fashion should be about. You should send those two to more shows would love to see more of them together haha

Very interesting, I love how interpretive and unique art can be. Some of these styles aren't my thing and I have a very hard time understanding them, but that's why I love it. Reeeally cool.

They have the coolest style! I was a part of a prep team to get the models ready for shows & what is really crazy is it takes 4 hrs to get everyone ready and the show lasts less than 15 minutes. That was the most shocking thing for me about going to my first NYFW shows.

Really loved their chemistry. They both were different but meshed well and could appreciate all the shows and each other's styles! That's what fashion should be about. You should send those two to more shows would love to see more of them together haha
