    Great job! You might consider wearing a very good respirator. Those glass fines in the air might be nasty on the lungs.

    Outstanding!!!
    Please consider wearing some safety gear...that crushed glass dust has got to do something to your respiratory system and eye membrane tissue

    gentleman, please put a sign or warning notice on this machine. “before switch on the power, please check the trap door and see if there is a cat or any animal inside“
    especially in winter or rainly days, because once you switch it on, there is no replay button to reverse the situation. just a humble suggestion, thanks.

    Hey Arnold, can you please tell me the specifications of the motor you used here?

    maybe add a cyclone on the outfeed side? if you're going to wash it, a light water spray will knock the dust down into some container you set up to catch it

    It's a great project, might build one myself. Can you tell me how much does a 55 gallon drum weights when full of crushed glass?

      @ArnoldsDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the size of the cullet, but anywhere from 600 to 800 lbs.

    I need to have one and how could i design and prove it will work. And what if you use less rpm motor for dusting problem.please i need reply.

    • @ArnoldsDesign
      @ArnoldsDesign  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dust isn't a problem when the bottom grate is removed. The motor is rpm is only 1875, so not very fast.

      Based on what you decise the rpm, dimesion of the shaft and rotor, power of the motor. Have you done impact force, shear force analysis or any analysis befor manufacturing the machine.

      Yes.

    Does the labels get in the way or are they ground up with the glass

    Not sure if you said, but do you reclaim the glass for re-use in your blast cabinet?
    Reading online, it seems sites that sell crushed glass media call it 'one time use' and
    say it can't be reclaimed. Then again, they are in business of selling more media......lol

    • @ArnoldsDesign
      @ArnoldsDesign  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, it's good for many blasting cycles. I use it for blasting all the time in my cabinet. It gradually breaks down like any other abrasive and gets sucked into the dust collector. As it breaks down into a finer grit, it exposes new sharp edges, so it's cleaning efficiency doesn't drop off. Like you said, sounds like salesmen trying to move more product. Either that, or they don't know their product very well.

      @@ArnoldsDesign is this what you use for the vapor blasting Arnold and does it leave a nice shine on bike parts or you just useing it for dry blasting and is their a difference between different color glass bottles

    • @ArnoldsDesign
      @ArnoldsDesign  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@officialmysteriousrider6327 I just use it for dry blasting. It leaves a matte finish on parts in dry or wet blasting. All glass colors have the same action, and have no influence on finishes or speed.
