We loved the lemon blueberry, my husband and I ate the whole loaf in two days. Yes the blueberry flavor was lacking a bit but it was still great, the trick is to toast it LIGHTLY with a lot of butter. SO good!
I’m glad you enjoyed it 😃
Thanks!
Thank you SO much!!
When I was in school my mom would always make Cinnamon Toast and Hot Chocolate for us when it was cold outside. Such great memories for me. I did the same for my children.
Same! Or when we were home from school with a cold, she'd make us cinnamon toast, it was so comforting.
That’s so sweet 💕
Actually, all of these breads would be perfect for French toast😋
Thanks! For reviewing
Thank you SO much!!
Growing up, I would lightly toast my bread, then spread butter, brown sugar and cinnamon on it and put it in the toaster oven and broil it. The brown sugar and butter would bubble up and get a bit crunchy. So good! I think I know what I’ll have for breakfast this morning. 😋
Sounds terrific!
I love those 😋❤️👏 I’ve been eating them since I was young.
I love the lemon blueberry ❤ .. especially with fresh clementines for a simple lunch
I’m glad you like it 😃
My sister makes a wonderful chicken salad sandwich using the Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Raisin Bread. It's oh so delightful !
Love your honest reviews as always !!
I’m glad you enjoy it 😃
Thank you for the review! About 10 years ago, I went through a phase of trying those breads. I tried the pumpkin one, as well as gingerbread and banana chocolate chip. If I remember correctly, there was also a plain chocolate chip flavor. All of the breads smelled much better than they tasted. The pumpkin and gingerbread just tasted like generic cinnamon when they were toasted. The banana chocolate chip was definitely better plain than toasted. However, I eventually stopped buying the breads because I knew I would be disappointed.
Kevin has always been disappointed in these, but I wanted to give them another chance because it had been years since we bought them.
We didn't grow up with lots of sweets in the house, so an untoasted slice of cinnamon raisin bread after school felt like a HUGE indulgence. We never did cinnamon toast the way you describe it, but as a similar 'cheap something sweet' snack my mom would slice up a banana and put cinnamon and sugar on it.
I bet that was so delicious.
The first time I made cinnamon sugar toast with brown sugar I felt so ridiculous for not using it all along. So good and much less messy
I need to do that!
the french toast one sounds good to me.
Heel person here! I flinched when Kevin said throw it away lol.
It’s my favorite piece!!
I make french toast with the pumpkin and strawberry one it is so yummy. Them are the only two I've tried. Thank you for the review.
You are so welcome! 🤗
I've been on the lookout for the lemon blueberry
I hope you like it more than we did.
Cinnabon is my favorite type of bread they have
I have never attempted to make my own cinnamon sugar toast. I don’t know why. Maybe because I never had any growing up. It just wasn’t a thing in our household. We would only put butter and jam on toast.
It’s certainly something I’ll have to try now. Thanks for the idea and the recipe. 😊
It’s so delicious!
Omg I want that French Toast!!! I think the slight maple flavor would be fine for me, and I LOVE the end pieces. I am convinced they are the best parts of a loaf LOL
Yes!! I love the ends!
I’ve had several flavors of this bread and I’m like y’all they are okay. However I do like the pumpkin and banana bread flavors but the price difference isn’t worth it really because you can basically do your own. I was wondering about the lemon blueberry so glad y’all reviewed. Great review!
Unfortunately, it’s not good.
I am a big fan of the raisin bread and the pumpkin bread. I would try all three of these but at different sittings! I am thinking that the inner wrapping might also keep the aromas of the breads from physically merging (example maple bread tasting like lemon bread, etc. if only placed in outer bag).
I would still try all three of these to make my own decision and I appreciate your review! :)
Hope you enjoy them 😃
I buy these breads (not the lemon blueberry) and make French toast with them. I use flavored coffee creamer instead of milk and cinnamon in my egg mixture it’s really good- but let me say this is a two or three times a year treat. I have used the 35 calorie bread as well -very good!
Sounds great!
I love this bread and buy this in my holiday in the USA. I eat this with Banana or jam 😊
I’m glad you enjoy it 😃
Ive never seen them at the Meijers in Cincinnati
The cinnamon swirl variety makes a delicious french toast! I share this from experience.
Thanks for sharing!
These breads smell good, but that's it.
I bake my own bread now (including swirl bread), and it is light-years better! My mom likes to toast it in the morning with some butter or homemade jam I made. She loves it.
Even though we're both huge cinnamon eaters, I never grew up making cinnamon toast... Honestly I didn't even know it was something people made until I was an adult 😅
Thanks for a great review. I had the French toast and dip it in maple syrup. I enjoy their cinnamon raisin once in awhile but I’ll pass.
Have a sunny n happy day.😊
Thank you, Kathy 🌷
Great review
Thank you!
I tried the brown sugar cinnamon one I found mine at Walmart.
mmm these look good would go for the brown sugar cinnamon and then the french toast 😋 and the lemon blueberry last, someone has to come in last place lol
👏🏻👏🏻
"Pepperidge Farm bread. That's fancy bread. You can tell it's fancy because it's wrapped twice. You open it, and it still isn't open. That's why I don't buy it. I don't need another step between me and toast."
🤣
Grocery bread aren’t the best when they’re mass produced with a lot of preservatives unlike fresh bread from your local bakery.
Hong Kong also have a thick French toast culture when the UK still control the land. It’s probably less overpowering and heavy in fat and sweet flavor that way when there are more white bread in between to dip the butter and syrup. However, they’re more famous for their polo bun and egg tarts.
Meanwhile, other Asian countries like Japan is more popular for their no crust fry meat sandwich or fruit and cream filled sandwich. China and Taiwan got a traditional steam and fry mean bun culture. While Vietnam is famous for their French inspired tangy meat and vegetable filled fusion baguettes.
I’d like to try it all 🤗
I like the French Toast bread.
I’m glad you like it 😃
I have had other bread that has been double wrapped, I can't remember what brand because only bought once in awhile because it was a more expensive brand
All of the regular bread (not flavored) I have ever bought has never been double wrapped which is surprising if it helps with freshness.
Your link took me to Amazon and they wanted $32 for that bread
Amazon food prices are typically much higher.
Thanks for the review. I will stay away from these. I have been curious when I have seen them. My family spent several years in Japan and Taiwan. I remember the fat bread. They do make thinner bread for sandwiches. But if we couldn’t make it to the military base, sometimes I would be stuck with the thick bread. I remember trying to cut the thick slices for toast or sandwiches 😂.
Oh I bet it would be hard to get a thin slice 😄
The banana is really good… I like the cranberry one in the fall…
I’m glad you enjoy them 😃
Tami, you may need to sit down for this, not everyone likes butter… I know… crazy!!!! I think without toasting it, it has a play doh type of texture…
Oh I know 😄
We love the cinnamon bread then we put butter and cinnamon and sugar
Like Tami I was disappointed in the lemon blueberry as well and that is one of my favorite flavor combinations. But it just doesn't work here the lemon is the only thing you taste and unfortunately it is not a good lemon. When you look at the ingredients cranberries are ranked much higher than blueberries so there is a lot more cranberry than there is blueberry but you don't taste any berry of any kind! Very little anyway making it an overall disappointment.
Tami I know you have sworn off pepperidge Farm but try the strawberry again if you can. In my opinion they have improved it. I love to add bananas to it. And funnily enough I like to buy the banana swirl bread and add strawberry jam to it!
I bet combining those flavors is tasty!
@@TamiDunn it really is! I hope you try it sometime
I’m with Kevin, no bread butts! 😂 Butter is a must for Cinnamon Toast. I grew up eating that. So good.
To be honest, I’ve never cared for these types of bread. Out of the Thomas English Muffins I like the Buttermilk ones. These are a pass for me. Thanks for a great review.
We will never get the appeal.
My Mom loves the regular Cinnamon one. She can't eat a lot of dairy,, so no butter that would hold the Cinnamon on. Plus at her age, she can't tolerate a lot of sweetness, so this bread works good for her. With these breads, the flavor is infused without needing anything to hold the cinnamon sugar on. I've tried the French Toast and some of the Thomas breads, but not impressed. Flavors are too light for me.
I’m glad she enjoys it 😃
That’s definitely disappointing about the lemon blueberry. Have you tried sister Schuberts lemon blueberry rolls? I may get that instead (:
Yes 😃 th-cam.com/video/tujZtI8MyzY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9YfOT0t5EWGzYPF3
I hope our store gets the lemon blueberry.i don't like the French toast it's to mapley for me our store always has that bread for 2$
If you lived closer, you could have had ours because we didn’t like it at all.
Wow
They probably double bag for freshness reasons but I’m sure it’s loaded with preservatives 😟. Although it’s sounds good in principle they don’t look appealing to me. Thanks for the review.
It’s not appealing to us either 😉
I grew up with Pepperidge Farm bread and Arnold's bread, in the 1970's. We didn't really know what "good" bread was since my Mom wasn't into baking bread at that time. Now as a Californian, we are so spoiled with Artisan-style breads, and I do bake my own bread, so I would not buy these breads.
I have been so curious about these breads! Thks for making my decision whether to try. Hard pass😢
You are so welcome!
Also thank you as I would’ve definitely bought the lemon before seeing this… now I won’t…
I’m glad this helped 🤗
My husband and I loved the lemon blueberry! Yes it could've used more blueberries but it tasted incredible toasted to us, we ate the whole loaf in two days.
Who eats dry toast🤦♂️
You eat it any way that makes you happy.
