Hello! I have been a fan of Kent for a while now, feeling so lucky to be working in Japan and able to him see live. I want to let you know that I enjoyed listening to your reaction as much as I enjoyed Kent’s playing as you helped me to understand what he is doing... hope to hear you cover another of his track. Tears For Fears track was his opening track at his 5th Anniversary of his first CD release recently. Haha his playing helped me to listen to those tracks I originally felt too cheesy but learnt to appreciate them more. LOL

Cheers, I think Kent is extremely talented and perhaps not understood much in the west, but slowly he will gain more followers and get the fame he deserves, thank you, Bob 😊

Alip ba ta and Kent has different styles of fingerstyle playing. Kent is more on a classical fingerstyle approach while Alip has developed his own style through self thought.
Alip mastered his own style of playing. He said in his interview that he thought himself since young to play like that. Kent, basing on his style, he had a classical training and it shows on his fingerstyle playing.
They are masters of their own styles. Bryan May himself of The Queen, acknowledged on Twitter of Alip’s Bohemian Rhapsody cover. While Kent was acknowledged as well by Tommy Emmanuel as one of the promising talents and performed in one of his concerts in Japan a few years back.
For sure Alip can play Thriller with ease but maybe in a different way and it depends on us which one we like most.

I agree , very different styles, and maturity, I think I would just like to hear a version from Alip, I think it would be a cool one for him to have a go at and popular too😊😊😊👍

Kent is self-taught as well. He has been playing since the age of 5 years old.

Alip is very talented, for sure, but he does in my view struggle with timing and volume control. Kent is the smoother and cleaner player.
