Totally agree. Also, who is to say that anybody knows exactly what went on in Freddie's life behind closed doors in the bars and at home. Practically all of it what the public think they know is just hear-say. So what would be shown? What would have been the truth, what fiction? I also feel that some stories were somewhat exagerated. lwaves it was confirmed by Roger and Brian but they was cut down or out the movie and a lot of them are edited in between club and performances sections. Like the gay club scenes they was all shot in full but changed so it switched back and forth with stage performances, just enough to give everyone a tiny look at Freddie’s personal life on his own struggling to come to terms with his sexuality but not to much that the scenes take away from the story of the band! X
Be that as it may .. I'm only interested in seeing the one that is being shown in the theaters .. let the lousy critics go to see the other to satisfy their own voyeur appetites!! I already know about the other parts .. I don't need 'show & tell' version!!
I really admire the way that Rami tries to transform the expected answer from the interview's questions into ones with more depth, ones that honour Freddie and talk more about him as a person and how they wanted to portray him int he film. I've noticed in a few interviews, not only focusing on this one, that when there are unsophisticated questions dished out, Rami truly does his best to shift them because he's yearning to talk passionately about this massive project they spent months on, he hasn't had the chance to until this press tour and he's receiving this endless string of (almost) irrelevant questions. Respect to you Rami, you're a hardworking actor who feels deeply about his work and this band.
God-bless Rami Malek. What a genuine, first-class, class-act, professional response at the end. This movie was a CELEBRATION of a renowned band and a life well lived to the hilt. I had tears at the end of this movie. I don’t care what critics say, Malek deserves an Oscar, as well as his supporting cast, so should this movie be given an award. Well done gentlemen, well done. Rami, you are a talented gem.
Really! I went to look him up after seeing this film expecting to find he was born in the early 90s.. shocking that he was born in 81, he looks crazy young
Bulls eye of a announcement from you rami !!!!! Freddie Mercury would have smiled and lit himself a smoke and sips his bear with pleasure , to you for that .His life being and preforming to the world was his aim to show much of what he knew and many others didn’t and this is why he is such a legend to us all
I love how Rami took the extra time to CORRECT how this film is meant to be represented at the very end. We are here to respect and enjoy Queen, especially Freddie Mercury. This movie was spectacular and it was VERY VERY nicely directed and scripted. This better win the fucking Grammys.
They could not have selected more perfect actors to play Queen!! All of them are so intelligent, talented and humble, which is very refreshing. Rami is always so articulate and thoughtful about his responses. I’ve seen other interviews and they keep asking the same question about the portrayal of Freddie’s private life in the movie. I’m sure Rami has gotten tired of it but he always answers with such calmness and poise. Golden globes are a few days away - fingers and toes crossed that he wins!!
The critics are deeply wrong. This movie was a sensitive, intelligent, loving & authentic story. We don't need to be hit over the head to know the boys also experienced darkness. Rami's words about Freddie & Queen are beautiful.
It's obvious with how spot on the cast is to the real Queen that in this era in time the film Bohemian Rhapsody was meant to be. Almost as if Freddie Mercury's spirit enveloped Rami Malek and was actually living through Rami again. Mind blown! The entire cast were absolutely phenomenal. Have watched this movie eight times and will probably round it up to ten before it leaves the big screen. Kudos to Malek at the end for giving Mr. Mercury the highest of praises. Screw the critics. It's what the fans wanted and this fan will be pleased with it forever🤘🎶🎶
They can't sing. Not really. Let alone at this level. All the music you hear in the movie is original from Queen, a mix of studio recordings and live performances. For the live aide sequences, they took the original audio, digitized and cleaned it up and oomphed up the crowd to make it sound as though this were a live audience performance. The things they can do with technology these days boggle the mind.
Also it’s not just the singing, it’s the musical talent to be able to create all of those master pieces themselves with out someone else writing it for them
@@adrianazashen Please do! It's an amazing mini series, those two are fantastic in it. I loved Rami the moment I saw him in that show, I'm so happy his career is really taking off.
You have to be American. Everyday language in the UK. Most 6 year olds would know them. He's been hanging with too many Brits. Shakespeare and Dickens and Sir Arthur ....it's in our genes.
You can imagine what the reaction would of been like had they shown a lot of what "really" went on back in the 70s & 80s. It would of got the wrong type of crowd watching the movie and also I imagine Kashmira (his sister) would of been extremely upset. I am glad they didn't show everything because its about trying to protect his legacy. What he did behind closed doors was his own business and isn't for sharing. Also its more interesting to imagine what happened to actually having it in front of you.
@@yc0995 Some brought little kids when I saw the movie. For some reason the rating became PG in my country instead of PG13, which is odd because our censorship board is quite strict when it comes to movies with LGBTQ content (ex: The Danish Girl, Love Simon). There were audible gasps and (quick) shocked screams from some of the audience during homosexual kissing scenes, and I thought "i wonder if these are fans. If they are then this should not surprise them"
3:44 its the little conversations and words, that you notice, that a person will do or say, (another 'human being' will notice) like respect for a fellow man and that just nice to see. Good man right there...did anyone else notice?

I have to comment and answer the first question. I think if Freddie were alive today, he would criticize how people get so easily offended by so many things nowadays. It would be quite funny to see the things he would say and do to challenge all of that. I feel like he would continuously be pushing boundaries and making people feel uncomfortable almost. It would be so great.
Stephanie Wood that’s so true watching old videos of him or listening to old interviews he didn’t have a filter switch! Could you imagine him now in this day and age with all the social media accounts and the stuff he would post on line? He’d shut Trump up with one comment I think!?! Trump says things for shock value to keep his name in the papers, Freddie just said what was in his head at that second and said it without filtering himself or thinking about “oh I shouldn’t have said that!” He said what he thought and did what he pleased and that’s what I loved about him, you couldn’t put him in one box or under one label he was just himself and proud of it! X
River-Phoenix Luna Pavier Freddie and Queen didn’t talk politics. I doubt he would have had anything to say about our President. Don’t use his memory to bash the President.
David Baker who said anything about “politics”? I didn’t! I was stating a fact about your precious racist, bigoted President! We are talking about “speaking minds” not “politics” you brought “politics” into a conversation that wasn’t about said subject no one else did!!!!
I think that, and also the huge need for labels that people have nowadays. Not only did Freddie hate them but he saw how terribly unnecessary they were. Like who cares what your sexuality is just go with it
I have been watching interviews for this movie for 2 hours now and I have to say the way Rami speaks about Freddie melts my heart and makes me appreciate the fact that he was the one portraying this legend. YOU DESERVE THAT OSCAR RAMI
Bohemian Rhapsody came out in my city on November 2, 2018. I saw the very first showing on Friday at my closest theatre. I was in awe! This movie will have you crying, laughing, and celebrating all of the struggles, and successes of Freddie, Brian, Roger and John and Mary! Rami Malek became Freddie Mercury! I couldn't take my eyes off him. The other 3 actors also looked like the real band members! Very well done! Excellent! Rami deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of Freddie and the others as supporting actors. Movie of the year, Bohemian Rhapsody, we will rock you, we are the champions, Somebody to Love topping music charts once again! I wonder where Freddie's last boyfriend Jim, is today?
Saw the movie today❤ and was filled with so many emotions😂😍😭💃 Thank you Queen for sharing your music with us over the years, what Legends! what a journey!!🤘 Rami Malek you deserve an oscar such an amazing performance👏 Miss you Freddie❤
What a well-rounded, wholesome interview! Both the interviewer and the actors/Rami, discussing questions and answers in such a nice and classy way. Nothing about Freddie's sexuality or debaucherous lifestyle mentioned, yet they're implied in a respectful manner and steered in to bigger problems with the world. The movie's not a documentary, there're tons of that already. This movie is a 'show', a 2h concert on its own, celebrating Queen's legacy and ideology. And a beautiful piece of art!
I was completely blown away by this movie. It was acted out so well. Crazy that during the 80s I wasn't a huge fan of Queen. But now, after learning more about the group, especially the portrayal of Freddie Mercury, I have a greater appreciation. Kudos to Rami Malek. You did a really spectacular job. The casting in this movie is superb. It is a must see movie.
3:08 - YES! My only problem with this film is it was far too short. It was trying to cover way too much in under 2 hours and this made it feel very rushed and like it didn't explore various major character relationships and developments properly before hurtling onto the next scenes. This movie should have been at least 2h10 to 2h15.. the lack of smoking was kind of noticeable too actually, Freddie was constantly chain-smoking and the rest of the band smoked a lot too. While I understand not dwelling on sex and drugs much, I don't see why they wanted to make this for kids. this movie should be a 15.
Excellent commentary both in the video and also in the comments section. I just wanted to add that here it is confirmed that they shot the entire Live Aid concert, which means the extended cut might actually include the entire concert (rather than the parts we just saw in the final cut). I'm looking forward to owning a copy of this masterpiece of a film.
Wow what Rami did say is really impressive loved that. The guys, who are literally doppelgänger's did such a great job! And they also admire Queen's work , which makes them really sympathetic to the fans. Loved the interview.💙
I was looking forward to see this movie for a long time, and finally got to do it this week. Since I've been trying to study scriptwriting and storytelling recently, I started off noticing how this does not align. Every film needs a struggle, right? Anyway, a couple minutes in, that went out of the window. This isn't sharing a story arc with a structure, this is letting us a little into the lives of those we have adored since childhood. It's an ode to a life lost, and a guilty pleasure to indulge in fantastic music, with fantastic people, and fantastic images, and a truckload of sentiment. I don't care if the story holds up to structure standards. The set and costume design was on point. The performances were phenomenal. The emotional charge to the film was through the roof. I loved it, and would watch again. I took my mom, who likes biographies, and I might just go pay two tickets again to take my dad, who loves Queen. It's him who I've caught the passion from. On another note, it's awe inspiring how a role can transform a person. Rami Malek in pre-Bo Rap interviews is super shy and awkward. Rami after that, more visible in this interview than others I have seen, is confident, assertive, and at ease. It's like he's taken those aspects of Freddie that could help him, and adopted them. Freddie was shy, but had the biggest persona. You can see this in Rami in interviews. Now he's charming, he flirts, he's assertive, and with 'the band' he's more at ease and relaxed than I have ever seen him. I love his clapback at critics here, and just taking the word, because he has something to say, even though he wasn't asked. Rock on!
Rami shut down the critics who kept pointing out all the things they missed. No, they didn't miss anything, they just put it in as he said 'in the background', because you can't fit all of their lives in a two hour movie. Audiences love it, I love it. Cried like 7 times through the movie and laughed trice as much. Amazing
I'm so glad the entire team has chosen to make this movie as a celebration of Freddie's life & the band's phenomenal legacy! It was never anyone else's story to envision or tell. Well done all!! ✌
Rami said at the end of the interview exactly how the fans feel not only about Freddie but about the whole band QUEEN!! In a nutshell .. they are ICONIC .. UNIQUE & a bunch of Great guys who there will never be another again!! We've known that for a long time!! QUEEN Rules!!
WHAT AN AMAZING MOVIE! It completely exceeded my expectations. Guys, don't listen to the critics; go watch the film! Everyone in the theater left with tears in their eyes. Bohemian Rhapsody will forever be one of my favorite Cinematic experiences. And also dibs on Ben Hardy.
first off i'm a queen nut since 11, i'm 53 now. i know the band and it's music inside out like millions of others. since the first time i saw Rami in "Mr. Robot" to his portrayal of Freddie, and subsequent interviews he has achieved a special status in my heart. be it musician or actor, he is a true one of a kind. very thoughtful. introspective(you can almost see him thinking of what he's going to say before he says it) and has a true passion for freddie and the bands music. luv ya Rami! cheers from canada.

@@lwaves woowwwwwww really?Wooww nice to see that he has come so far 👍👍..Wow went from being an annoying kid from jurassic park to the greatest bass player of all time😀😀😀👍👍👍
It's amazing how closely he resembles John Deacon.
It was crazy in the film how much they look like their IRL versions. I didn't know much about Queen or Freddie Mercury before this film, now I see what the fuss is all about. They are legends!!!
He’s also in the ww2 war series the Pacific which is fantastic
I love how protective Rami is over Freddie in this interview. You can tell it comes from a place of genuine love and admiration! 👍❤️
Finally Ben joins them for an interview 😍
Ikr i missed him
Frail Scorpion I know me too! He's my fav out of the four
@@cristianm.5689 I thought he was finishing up another project? (the reason why he has not been in many of these interviews)

@@cristianm.5689 He was in a British Soap Opera called Eastenders.
Rami confirmed it in an interview there will be an unrated extended cut raunchy parties included
He said it and I hope it's true but I wouldn't say it was confirmed, seeing as he has no power/say over those types of decisions.
lwaves it was confirmed by Roger and Brian but they was cut down or out the movie and a lot of them are edited in between club and performances sections.
@@tatubert8210 what you said about critics and their voyeurism speaks so many volumes about the state of film and those who review them...Good words
West Texas Nomad Fine. Let them. I for one care less and don't need to see it. Movie as it is is epic.
0:20 Ben's hand on Joe's shoulder, it may be nothing or unintentional but it definitely made my little hardzello heart melt! XD
True xd
God-bless Rami Malek. What a genuine, first-class, class-act, professional response at the end. This movie was a CELEBRATION of a renowned band and a life well lived to the hilt. I had tears at the end of this movie. I don’t care what critics say, Malek deserves an Oscar, as well as his supporting cast, so should this movie be given an award. Well done gentlemen, well done. Rami, you are a talented gem.
the energy and the confidence was exceptionally higher now that they’re complete. I think its beautiful.
How is Rami 37 like what??!??
WHAT?! I thought he's like 20-something omg 😃😃
Really! I went to look him up after seeing this film expecting to find he was born in the early 90s.. shocking that he was born in 81, he looks crazy young
He is a year younger than my mom...
Wait WHAT?!?! Holy shit…😳
@@BlueDiamond-cn6sb older you mean
im still lovin the actor who play as roger! haha
Well said! Loads of scenes of drug taking may glorify it. Instead the film explores Freddie's humanity. Love Rami's retort!
Exactly
Ben: they said “Ben your not allowed to smoke in this scene” and It drove me nuts anyway
Joe: WeRe TrInG To SaVe YoUr LiFe
Yesss! I was laughing soo hard!
2:25 I DIED when he raised a hand and said with this deep voice "let me start this one" XDDDD Love Ben so much
Huge respect to Rami Malek...a humble and intelligent human being himself.
Bulls eye of a announcement from you rami !!!!! Freddie Mercury would have smiled and lit himself a smoke and sips his bear with pleasure , to you for that .His life being and preforming to the world was his aim to show much of what he knew and many others didn’t and this is why he is such a legend to us all
How did Rami squire such incredibly deep insight? What he said about Freddie at the end is exactly what someone needed to say! Thank you, Rami. Again.
0:19 OH MY GOD BEN IS HOLDING ONTO JOE'S SHOULDER MY HARDZZELLO HEART
I love how Rami took the extra time to CORRECT how this film is meant to be represented at the very end. We are here to respect and enjoy Queen, especially Freddie Mercury. This movie was spectacular and it was VERY VERY nicely directed and scripted. This better win the fucking Grammys.
"almost feel like you were there"
No, I felt exactly like I was there, it was spine tingling.
FINALLY ONE WITH BEN
What if they start a queen tribute band lol
They can't sing. Not really. Let alone at this level. All the music you hear in the movie is original from Queen, a mix of studio recordings and live performances. For the live aide sequences, they took the original audio, digitized and cleaned it up and oomphed up the crowd to make it sound as though this were a live audience performance. The things they can do with technology these days boggle the mind.
Talgat not true a lot of the singing was a mix between Freddie rami and a sound alike they tried to use Freddie as much as possible though
Also it’s not just the singing, it’s the musical talent to be able to create all of those master pieces themselves with out someone else writing it for them
Talgat they also use Marc Martel and rami Malek voices
Joseph can sing
Joe and Gwilyn are the clones of John Deacon and Brian May. Throughout the entire movie I couldn't unsee the resemblance. Wow.
For all the naysayers. Love you Rami Malek.
Totally agree !
Omg Rami Malek and Joe Mazzello together again!! I loved their chemistry so much during The Pacific so awesome to see them work together again.
Well now I gotta watch...
@@adrianazashen Please do! It's an amazing mini series, those two are fantastic in it. I loved Rami the moment I saw him in that show, I'm so happy his career is really taking off.
The pacific was awesome !

Ben's hand on Joe's shoulder!!.
How cute is that ! 1!1!
😍😍😍😍
Now let’s talk about how the whole cast looked like and portrayed all the members of Queen in a amazing way
Hedonistic, elicit, explicit, gratuitous...
Rami just made me laugh out loud with all them big words.
Illicit. Elicit means something else. Thank God Rami is so intelligent and articulate.
i think it was very sexy to hear him talk like that
he's a walking dictionary...lol..he's awesome
You have to be American. Everyday language in the UK. Most 6 year olds would know them. He's been hanging with too many Brits. Shakespeare and Dickens and Sir Arthur ....it's in our genes.
I totally agree with the 12a age rating, although they did push that as far as they could. You know everything but you don’t need to see everything
And having a wider audience means kids and teens can get to know Queen :)
This is exactly right, we know what was going on, we don't need to see everything
If they are then this should not surprise them"
@@maeannengo4908 lol that's funny
Anybody else who thinks John Deacon is the coolest guy in the group?
Me!! I respect John Deacon so much! And Joe is so gooood when he portrayed him
How could you be so beautiful Ben Hardy 😍
3:48 can't pay attention to a single word Rami is saying cuz my eyes are glued to Joe 😍
3:44 its the little conversations and words, that you notice, that a person will do or say, (another 'human being' will notice) like respect for a fellow man and that just nice to see. Good man right there...did anyone else notice?
i notice, noted
Ben putting his hand on Joe’s shoulder in the first 40 secs *omg my HEART*
H_ Nguyen Oh, thank goodness someone else noticed! I replayed that bit several times, wondering if I was really seeing that. Those two 💕
Anne-Marie McDonald yeah right? and when Joe moved I think Ben was afraid that his hand would look too obvious on Joe’s shoulder so he kinda tried to naturally lift his hand away :) they’re the cutest!
I love how articulate Rami is with his responses. He really goes in depth and doesn’t settle with giving a simple response.
Malek nailed it at the end!!!!!! He was so much more than sex or his sexuality .
Rochell Barbara he's talking about his drug problems, not his sexuality. Freddie LOVED to talk about sex!
Hippie Whovian I said he’s more than sex not that he didn’t like sex
rami malek is one of the most amazing and kind person i have ever seen and it's honestly so refreshing. he really deserves all the love and success in the world.
Yeah, i think so
Stephanie Wood that’s so true watching old videos of him or listening to old interviews he didn’t have a filter switch!
YOU DESERVE THAT OSCAR RAMI
i havent seen the movie yet but why do iget the feeling that Rami is half him and half still in character as freddie, lots of confidence
Rami's speech at the end was moving. He really admires Freddie and understands what the film means to his fans.
joe's immediate laughter after rami makes the cocaine joke is proof of their friendship
He died of cancer in 2010.
Saw the movie today❤ and was filled with so many emotions😂😍😭💃 Thank you Queen for sharing your music with us over the years, what Legends! what a journey!!🤘 Rami Malek you deserve an oscar such an amazing performance👏
Miss you Freddie❤
What a well-rounded, wholesome interview! Both the interviewer and the actors/Rami, discussing questions and answers in such a nice and classy way. Nothing about Freddie's sexuality or debaucherous lifestyle mentioned, yet they're implied in a respectful manner and steered in to bigger problems with the world. The movie's not a documentary, there're tons of that already. This movie is a 'show', a 2h concert on its own, celebrating Queen's legacy and ideology. And a beautiful piece of art!
If these guys decided to start a band I would definitely pay to see their concerts
Well said at the end there Rami well said 👏👏 that's what's important
These guys are already legends .so early in age and there genius minds on Freddie Mercury's life when he lived on stage..
Love, love, love Rami Malek! Entire cast rocked it!
haven't heard such good questions from an interviewer in a long time! thank you for this
I haven't seen the film yet but I did read that it was about 2 hours and 14 minutes. Of course, that's credits included.
As far as I know, Brian is the only in the band that didn't do smoking
It could easily be 2h45 long movie for me. Better more insightful screenplay and it would be masterpiece like Amadeus.
They’ll release an extended version on DVD eventually
I saw it today and it was 2 hours 34 minutes
Excellent commentary both in the video and also in the comments section. I just wanted to add that here it is confirmed that they shot the entire Live Aid concert, which means the extended cut might actually include the entire concert (rather than the parts we just saw in the final cut). I'm looking forward to owning a copy of this masterpiece of a film.
Wow what Rami did say is really impressive loved that. The guys, who are literally doppelgänger's did such a great job! And they also admire Queen's work , which makes them really sympathetic to the fans. Loved the interview.💙
One of the best interviews of these four that I have seen.
Rock on!
Love the way Ben is holding Joes shoulder in the beginning behind Rami. Had to point that out for my Hardzzello fam.
Extended cut 🤤

Rami shut down the critics who kept pointing out all the things they missed.
No, they didn't miss anything, they just put it in as he said 'in the background', because you can't fit all of their lives in a two hour movie.
Audiences love it, I love it. Cried like 7 times through the movie and laughed trice as much. Amazing
Great last message by Rami. 100% on point. If critics want a dark side of Freddie Mercury then go watch a documentary about him. Loved this film.
I’m always so shook whenever Joe talks during interviews I’m always like “omg Deaky’s talking?!”

Rami really is out here speaking, the truth.
first off i'm a queen nut since 11, i'm 53 now. i know the band and it's music inside out like millions of others. since the first time i saw Rami in "Mr.
