    My wife has magnesium wasting disease. Very rare and she can’t live without it. Every year there is a magnesium sulfate shortage and doctors will not let her buy more than 1 month at a time so she always ends up sick. This is wrong and worries about liability is killing her even though she has had hospital tests confirming her wasting. Who can we see to get mor than a months worth at a time?

    Could taking magnesium sulfate orally in much smaller amounts prevent the need for IV magnesium sulfate when a crisis occurs. In other words could it prevent a crisis. Why is sulfate used rather than glycine, or oxide, or taurate, or citrate, or oratate etc? Is the crisis brought on by low magnesium levels and could it be prevented by daily supplements of magnesium? How effective is transdermal magnesium and what is a recommended dose of transdermal magnesium and if doing transdermal do you need oral magnesium. Can you get enough magnesium from diet? Do you need high dose magnesium if taking high dose vitamin D per the Coimbra protocol for autoimmune diseases?

    What about oral formula which is also known as epsom salt? Here they use it for a better digestion and for removing toxic materials from body. What do you think? Are that kind of benefits true?

      Yes, people do take it orally in small amounts to help with constipation.

    Do we encourage or discourage fluids in gestational hypertension (preeclampsia). Very important question.

    I so appreciate the information that you have provided and would like to know WHY??? they use Magnesium Sulfate, in supplements/ vitamins. ~ Blessings~

    • @thatnursingprof2661
      @thatnursingprof2661  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oral Magnesium is for people who have low magnesium and need more. Sometimes it can be used as a laxative as well. The type we use in OB is IV and much more dangerous.

      @@thatnursingprof2661 Thank you! seams I need to read the ingredients a little more carefully ... because Magnesium Sulfate, is listed in a bottle of Echinacea , most likely as an electrolyte? One would think there are better options. ~ Blessings~

    Can u explain me plz how calcium gluconate prevents respiratory depression, its mechanism ?

    • @thatnursingprof2661
      @thatnursingprof2661  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It doesn't prevent respiratory depression, mag toxicity can cause respiratory depression and calcium gluconate acts directly on it as an antagonist.
