How futuristic would you say Megaman is compared to other media with robots/A.I? I mean Terminator franchise is 2029 in the future, I mean Skynet timeline, but the new Legion timeline is 2042, they say Megaman takes place in 200X ( what’s that supposed to mean?) I mean I always envisioned Megaman happening sometime in the 2050’s I mean hell you said the trees are artificial so, there’s no way in hell even by the plot of the first game that that could take place in 2010, I don’t think anyone envisioned man building robots as sophisticated as the first game by 2000’s, I mean I think the closest we have is Atlas, we could turn into sniper Joe

They also have mastered soft robotics if the faces, the fact Megaman is vulnerable to spikes, Battons, and the adorable squishiness of Mets is any indication. That color/power changing ability of Megaman's is definitely nanotechnology in my book. Along with the indestructible nature of Met helmets. I would say the century of 2100, at least 2110 or Perhaps 2150 lol, As seen by frost man's stage Climate Change/Global Warming was reversed and clearly there is a new clean energy source, perhaps nuclear fusion, that allows Metropolitan cities to persist far up in Northern, Artic, Alaska. (Background is so pretty, too bad we have to worry about jumping and sliding) And things seem pretty stable in the world, Africa, specifically, the Congo which is where Search Man as well as Aquaman' Stage, Madagascar, has fully developed (Water cities show a need to expand into the sea as well), as has South America, Argentina, Grenade man. (Seems to imply some big wars are still happening however to need bombers.) I headcanon Frostman's City belongs to an Inuit/Aluet/Alutiq nation and is a show of their development. Everyone seems to think Classic series took place the century we live in now, and X was 22nd Century, but I’ve played Megaman 11 and the speed at which fuse man moves at rivals that of any 21st century fictitious robot, even Sonny in I-Robot couldn’t move that fast, it must be pretty futuristic if Flash man can stop time, or make his enemy slower than him somehow. So X series would most likely be 2200’s then, probably closer to 2300 by the time that series ends.
