Brother, as a TN fan I believe you’re wrong about this. I think this game could go about parallel with the first half of the NC State game but I don’t see us blowing them out of the water. But if you’re right and TN scores 40+ with a win I do think TN can go all the way this year since OU’s defense seems to be pretty tight
So I made the mistake of getting negative last week with Tulane. Oklahoma plays so well as an underdog. Oklahoma doesn't stop in the Fourth Quarter. Everybody may be right and Oklahoma may lose but ONLY if the volunteers have enough fight this Saturday.

As someone who attented the Duke's Mayo game, I actually think NC State had slightly more fans 55% to 45% They just all left early after kickoff.
With that said, Tennessee fans weren't overly excited about the NC State game. On the other hand they've had the Oklahoma game circled and will likely be the game most fans choose as their one away game to go to.
It won’t be even 15% Tennessee fans man. That lsu game in 2022 does show how well they travel though. It’s a possibility they show up with 15000+

One can't underestimate conference road games at night. They are hard to win! With that said, there is nothing about Oklahoma's offense that truly impresses me. Jackson Arnold holds the ball too long and is not good enough on 3rd downs. In fact, Oklahoma as a whole is 109th in the nation in 3rd down conversion rate. They have one skilled WR in Burks. But he is undersized and can't do it all. And the rushing attack is nothing to boast about.
I still think they play above themselves and their defense is able to somewhat keep Tennessee is check. But I think as the game wears on and OU keeps punting, their defense will eventually start breaking down. Tennessee runs away by the 4th quarter - 45 - 24 Tennessee

I don't go by all these little scenarios like many people are predicting. In fact I'm a Tennessee fan and I see a very good ball game. What worries me the most is Coach Josh Heupel because he is from Oklahoma, does he feel different in this game??? Of course he does and just because he got fired by his Oklahoma program after winning Oklahoma a National Championship, he does not have revenge on his mind. It being played in Oklahoma and how certain people being payed off is a concern because that's where officiating can tip the scale? I too see this as a close game but, will the officials dictate or will they let both teams play evenly without becoming part of the game? The advantage goes to Oklahoma because it's a home game plus Tennessee is higher ranked 7 in the coaches poll and 6th by the AP Poll.
OU has the 108th total offense, while Tennessee has the 2nd total defense. This game will not be close because the oline will be beaten down. They might get 9 sacks this week alone.
Oklahoma has two starting O-lineman coming back and 2 starting receivers coming back. It’s not going to be the same 108th ranked offense

What evidence is there that UT has a bad secondary this season? There is precisely one team that has allowed more passing yards than UT this year and that team is UGA. I get it that the secondary has been bad in previous seasons but there’s no evidence that this year’s UT team has a weak secondary. The evidence to this point suggest they’re actually pretty good. You can argue they haven’t played anyone. I’d say that’s true. However, there’s a lot of other SEC teams that haven’t played anybody and they’ve all allowed more passing yards than UT except UGA.

I'm looking forward to seeing redshirt freshman RB DeSean Bishop getting some playing time for the Oklahoma/TN game. Right now he leads the SEC in carries, averaging 10 yards per.
Vols break 50 for the 4th time, OK finds the end zone to end TN's streak. 52-17 Vols
Two stories here:
1. The inexperienced OU O line v the super deep Tennessee D line;
2. The Tennessee (irresistible force) v OU defense (immovable object).
Tennessee will have an advantage on #1. OU will have to have a good game plan to counter the D line of Tennessee.
OU isn’t blowing smoke about its D, but Tennessee faithful believe their offense is unstoppable. Are they right, or have they not faced a real defense yet?
Tennessee's offense isn't going to run wild on OU, but it's hard to see OU shutting them down the entire game. Tennessee will score their points. It's hard to see that OU offense being able to keep up with the struggles they've had against such a deep D-line. By the 4th quarter, Tennessee's D will have their offense shut down and Nico and company are able to score enough to pull out a two score win.
To answer your question, both. We haven't been tested really but yes we also feel they are unstoppable. I don't think anyone keeps them under 30 this year.
This tennessee faithful is giving the Tennessee defense the love it deserves. We win this game in the trenches, and rather big.
Tennessee wins by 3 touchdowns , I’m tired of the doubting . The competition we have played we have destroyed them relentlessly. We know how it feels of play in the SEC and have had to play UGA and Bama literally every single year. We are use to this and this is just another game . Handle business and keep on looking forward. Im a Vol fan for life....but im worried about this game. It's not the only game I've been worried about this season. I know we will be good later on...but in Nico's first year, we aren't going undefeated. At all. I just hope we only lose 2 games.
Oklahoma is 50 times better than any team we have faced in the last few weeks. Oklahoma's defense is elite and their QB, Arnold can extend plays with his feet and make plays with them. He can also rip up your secondary. We won't win this game unless we come with our A-game and ready to play hard for 4 qtrs.
Arnold isn't going to have enough time. This is by far the best front they've faced, and Tennessee's LBs are athletic in space. He'll pick up a few chunk plays here and there, but I don't see their offense reaching 30 points... which won't be enough to win.
Oklahoma is so "elite" they beat Houston 16 to 12.... They don't scare me. Especially with that make shift O line against our deep D line. They are gonna get their licks but we are too much for them.

Our secondary has won a lot of the scrimmage against our WR, that are being called great.

Tennessee is too deep. Especially on the defensive front. If you watch tape they’ve played very vanilla so far w scheme on both sides of the ball. OU offensive line is gonna have big trouble in this game. Also TN has a ton more team speed at every single position. James Pierce has played minimal snaps due to TN not needing him. When he has played he’s been doubled and sometimes tripled. Joseph’s is young but no joke also. This defense has significantly improved this year. May want to check some of your "facts." You say OU is a deep threat with the way they throw the ball down field, but they haven't done that at all. I'm not saying they're not great WRs, but they have not been attempting passes down field beyond 10 yards.

Guys, y'all do understand that Nico has started 4 games. He will get better as the season progresses. I think the game will not go how either of you predict. Y'all say Tennessee hasn't played anyone, but OU has only played Temple, Houston and Tulane. Not a juggernaut schedule for OU either. This is not going to be the 2022 SC game. NC State has only played Western Carolina and Louisiana Tech lol. Tulane played a very close game against #17 Kansas State and almost won. I’d say Tulane is the better team.

Dude just came on apologizing for doubting Tennessee and then rides Oklahoma all video. I know he picked Tennessee to win, but didn’t hardly mention any Vols defensive players.
I also said Tennessee has the best defensive line in the SEC, mentioned how they have the most underrated linebacking room and the best running back, plus three talented wide receivers and broke down why I think Squirrel White is going to have a day. And maybe it’s not “riding” but rather “need to see more” from Oklahoma. Don’t really need to see much from Tennessee to know how good the potential is.
