He was the #1 prospect so he was feeling himself, but it was more about people being on some hating shit. D Rose was the best thing to happen to Chicago after MJ left.

This is the exact sports culture I came up in on Southside of Chicago late 90s. I lived in the Hundreds, went to Harlan and our Baseball rivals was Simeon. We went to football camp with them, Morgan Park, and King. Getting the paddle for messing up was real. Most of the coaches for those programs were traditional Black Men, who were either Black Fraternity Affiliated (including the Masons), or had military experience. These men, and the serious environment of Southside Chicago molded me into someone of deep character.
I grew up in Chicago also the Gresham neighborhood. I tell you that the shit you see and have to do to survive in Chicago is REAL!..💪🏿🙏🏿
