Quick correction: I accidentally said that the Phone 2a has the same main camera sensor as the Nothing Phone 2 but while it has the same specs on paper (size, aputure, pixels, etc.) it is actually a Samsung sensor not the Sony IMX sensor from the Phone 2. Sorry for the confusion!
Actually afaik it's a slightly larger sensor - 1/1.5" instead of 1/1.56" - but Nothing says 1/1.56" in order to not cannibalise the sales of the regular Phone (2)
Interested to know what you would opt for if looking for best phone for photography for this sort of £300-£400 budget?

I have been using this device since release and have no gripes at all. It's gotten 4 updates which have made it better, and the battery is wonderful. Good job to the Nothing Team for creating amazing products.
thats why i like new companies got a phone 2a they are so much focused on community rather than big companies forcing ads and bloatware and not giving fixes even after 1 year

Besides the fact that we have a good all around budget phone in the US, I am happy to see Mediatek providing some serious competition to Qualcomm's snapdragon. They are waaaay too comfortable at the lower end. Props to mediatek and OEM's like Nothing for bringing it!

@@p.a.2712 it's slow because it take more photos and combine while turning hdr on.. turn off hdr and take photos for quick ones

Not at all. I think it’s totally its own thing. The one plus was always an almost flagship phone with mid spec price.
The selling point for nothing is mostly design and vibe. This thing seems mid spec phone at mid spec price. Phone chips have out grown regular phone needs so mid spec chips work a lot better now then when one plus came out.
Which is fine though. If I was an android user I would just get a new phone every 6 months because of all the different looks and form factors, and these mid range phones are perfect for this.

But i do agree that eventho nothing is focussing on design as oppose to oneplus back then but they are slowly or eventually will increase their price for mid or flagship devices just like oneplus even when carl pei was oneplus CEO
@@username22571 I’m not saying I would buy a flagship phone every six months. These $300 phones with weird quirks might be it. You can now get folding phones for that price.
With trade in and carrier deals, my upgrade is like $100 every two years on an iPhone pro. I had to just spend a lot of money that one time. iPhone resale values are pretty good. If I was bothered I could probably make money upgrading and just lose out in the weird purchase discount our carrier here charges for phones.
Most people don’t give two craps about phones. It just needs to work and people just upgrade based on carrier deals or their phones dying.
I’ve had the Nothing 2A in white for just over a month. I think that the white looks much better than the black. Despite the cameras being ok rather than great, I think it’s the best android phone for under £500let alone for under £350.
Galaxy a55 destroys it in almost every category (performance, cameras, design QUALITY). Probably 3a is gonna be much better cuz it's still recent.
@@phoenix_tc nope. this phone is better than a55 in everything except build quality. Exynos is very bad, cameras are just average, macro camera is comedic.

I came from the S24 Ultra to using this phone. I love it. Aesthetically it's the best looking phone at the moment, the battery life is phenomenal I've never managed to kill it in one day, it doesn't get hot even after an extended period of heavy gaming it runs games like a champ too, the software experience is just chef's kiss, best Android skin IMO. One downside is that the camera is just meh, usable (I'm used to flagship camera performance)

I have both Nothing phones , 2a and 2 , really like the soft ware on Nothing phones, better than the pixel, the camera on 2a is not as good as the 2 , but for $ 350 you can't complain much it's adequate. The images are not as sharp , and the colors are kind of dull, , but the 2 a feels good in the hand , very light to carry. Other than cameras , you can't tell much difference in the two phones. Both phones perform well , and battery is bigger on the 2a. Can't go wrong with either one.
I have 2a but you can't say that software is better than pixel, Google has so many ai features like perfect transcription etc.
Software Performance is way better than pixel stock experience. I'm not including the AI features but I see buttery smooth performance nothing phones dotted font is perfect. Hope nothing brings their own native apps like call, gallery, calculator, file manager in the coming Android updates gradually

Something I really noticed with the camera on the phone 2a is that it overexpose the picture a lot

4:36 this is misleading information, the 2a has the sensor ISOCELL GN9, so it's not the same as Nothing Phone 2
I been using my nothing phone2a for few months now and I love its camera photos but after the recent update the photos getting overexposed after the processing and lossing it clarity I don't know why is there any option to turn that off love my photo before that
Photos on screen are good but after the processing it becomes less clear

Hmm... developer registration... They are trying out the software on you and they are probably gathering function data from the phone under the radar because after all... you registered as a developer.
10:16 I've had my Pixel 6 Pro for nearly 12 months now, and like you, I take my phone off the charging Pad in the morning, and don't charge it until I get back into bed. So, the Nothing Phone 2A isn't the only battery champ.

Beautiful system UI, but I don't like (as TOC pleasing as they are) these same looking Monet / Nothing icons. Makes the apps way harder to differentiate, specially without using apps titles. I prefer to use the regular colorful icons without the titles (I'm a visual person I guess).
I think the idea behind the monotone is to encourage people to live in the moment instead of jumping from one app to another. That's mentioned in one of the Carl's reaction video.
@lewislouise I know the script, but in fact is form over use. My experience is that difficult my life, quite a lot. And to stay in that discourse, when you need to use the phone, it takes extra longer time finding the app through the similar icons, so nope, its putting me away of life and of the moment too, and it's just marketing.

Got the Nothing phone 2a a few days ago after my zfold3 crashed badly for the 3rd time in 2 weeks and the crease started showing small cracks…. What a seriously good phone the Nothing 2a is for the price. I’m really happy with it.
Been iPhone user past decade, got this and feels good so far.

Hi Brother i still have my Nothing Phone 1 White 12x256 and i love him so much and i have Nothing Phone 2 Gray 12x256 and i love him too i am still very happy with my bouth Nothings but sadly i have small TH-cam channel i love film Speakers sadly phone 2 microphones are not so good for the sample higher than 50 volume they records sound like under mattress so i must take my iPhone 13 pro max and film that video he records sound perfect and video stability is on another level i know iPhone cost much more and he can doo anything so my thinking still Nothing Phones could be a lot better

Sadly, I noticed through few reviews of Nothing Phone 2a that videos are quite terrible - they are lagging so much when moving. That is quite a disappointment. Maybe I need to search again.
P.S. yes, you butchered a bit pronounciation of word "Karczma" - for the future it is pronounced more like "car" and them "chma". "Carchma".

The developers deal with the us I believe Carl is building a phone with the help of us consumers. Around the world Carl's name is widely known. He not an entertainer in the states people offer no loyalty to creator just brands or bargains.. I bet money on the phone coming next made by the fans why developer program exist here. Not backed by carriers in the states. If so smart move.
