Suggestion: This would make a great series. I'm sure your grandpa has lots of cool stories like this, and he's one of the best storytellers I've had the pleasure of listening to. Absolutely agree! These older fine gents are around forever and I fear we may lose a lot of our car folk history, not so much the big mainstream and racing histories, but rather the local guys n halls it all was based around

This Channel is literally one of the best automotive channels in all of TH-cam. Hearing all those stories about the Hot Rod culture makes me really happy. Also I absolutely love your 65 Mustang build, made me want a muscle car. Unfortunately its hard for me to get one, as I live in Germany. Keep up the great work, I absolutely enjoy watching your Videos and hearing all those interesting stories. Also the Production Quality of your content is on point.

Great story! When my grandpa was still around he told us all kinds of hot rod stories. One of my favorites was when he had his 1957 belair convertible, he used to race people all of the time and like your grandpa he ended up getting a cop after him! My grandpa had the license plate hooked up with a line and pulled the line which flipped the license plate up so it couldn’t be seen whatsoever. Of course he got away, that powerglide! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ben! Your Grandpa is a wonderful getleman with a great memory and a good bunch of interesting stories. With a smile and good humour. More of this! I also have a suggestion: Get a voice recorder and ask Your Grandpa if He likes to tell all the old stories. Not only about cars and hot roding, but also if what he wants to tell about family history, life in general when He was a young man etc. I believe You would find these recordings valuable in the course of time.

7/16's? What's that Everything's metric now a days. My Dad was quite the mechanic. Wish I knew some of his stories, as he shared very little where he was definitely helping friends who had cool cars in the mid 50's. Seems like they learned out of necessity. No warranties, wanted to save a dollar, etc... You cherish these moments kid!
