    I just wish the inside of the shops looked a little less boring and generic. I really hope we get some new night life too. Me and my cousins go to Disney a lot and we always want more places for drinks after the parks close

    It’s a shame that Disney Village is losing its rock ’n roll spark with the renovation. The spirit of Elvis, the neon lights, the Hollywood vibe, and that endless glow reaching to the sky-that was the concept that made it truly great.

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say that spark is long gone, with just some remnants left... Some people didn't like the original Festival Disney but if anything it was consistent. Whatever Disney Village currently is, it ain't that, but I'd say the works will help in that direction

    It's been very easy to criticise Disney with their bland contemporary designs with hotel and shopping district refurbs, but I have to say I am quite impressed with this. There's many nice Disney touches that will help the Village to retain that special Disney feel. Which is something that Disney Springs and Downtown Disney both lack.

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Couldn't agree more! Disney Village is not inside the parks, it will never have that theming and level of immersion and it doesn't need it. This Village will celebrate the stories told inside the parks, and to me, that makes total sense.

    If Disneyland Paris Resort continues to grow with more shopping/dining/entertainment areas and build a 3rd gate, the resort needs to have a monorail system

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree that a new transportation method will be needed, and according to insiders they’re already looking at how they’re going to tackle this issue. Personally, a monorail would be amazing but it’s a very expensive option compared to others such as a Skyliner. Plus, Village to the third park could easily have boats between them, which would make a very pleasant trip. If they did end up going for a Skyliner and boats, I’d be extremely happy!

  • @ChrisWDW71

    I personally think they should have completely demolished the middle section from planet Hollywood to Mcdonalds and rebuilt that entire section to open the small walkway. I like the store changes but think they could have built something similar to Disney Springs 😀

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That side is definitely the worst of it all. Demolishing everything would make the project a lot more expensive and it really makes more sense to reuse parts of it to create something new!

    Personally, I’m very excited about all the changes to the resort. As someone who didn’t visit the park when I was younger, I don’t have the nostalgic connection that many others have to village, and with out that I personally find village very cheap and as an eyesore. So I’m very happy for these changes.
    What do you think all these changes to the resort means for a 3rd gate. In my mind, if they do it, which I believe is likely, I always pictured an adventure/wild themed park. However with the studios park being re-themed to adventure world, I’m not sure if that could still happen.

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As someone that’s been going to Disneyland Paris since pretty much I was born, I must say I hate Village. It’s cheap, old, literally rusty and a mix of different things. I’m very happy with the changes being done!
      Regarding the third gate, I don’t know how they could theme it. I could perhaps see a Disney take on Epic Universe, but even that is similar to new Walt Disney Studios. I would love a World Showcase park where we travel around the world visiting different countries, but with IPs and characters from said countries. Imagine an Italy land with Luca, a Brazil land with Rio, a Chinese land with Mulan, English land with Mary Poppins and so forth

    • @JosJones-v1c
      @JosJones-v1c 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@themainstreetnews
      That’s really interesting, I understand when people defend it because of how wild the theme is. But in my opinion it’s incredibly 90s which is cool, but just not feasible to never change. I think a more elegant and higher quality theme like what they’re doing is just what it needed.
      I love the idea of a world show case. I think it would be really interesting to see Paris’ take on that. I just hope they have unique attractions that sets Paris apart from Epcot. I also like the idea of having a similar layout to Tokyo sea where it’s different islands. Then it would allow contradicting themes to be used but spread out on different islands. You could have an island themed to legends, which could use IPs like Hercules, Atlantis, moana, and the little mermaid. As long as they stick to high detail and theming, I’m sure it’ll be great.

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed, DisneySea already is the next level EPCOT World Showcase, if we think about it. I’d love to have that level of immersion, even if they stick to just IP lands, if it all makes sense under one park (world showcase) it would be amazing!

    • @JosJones-v1c
      @JosJones-v1c 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@themainstreetnews
      Yeah exactly, showcase would be a perfect way to use coco, encanto, and so much more. I could sit forever thinking about what they could do with it. But for now it’s just as exciting to think about the next land/lands that will come to adventure world before the 3rd park.
      I love the idea of the lion king. Now that the park seems to be divided into worlds, It makes sense to me to expand worlds of Pixar. That could finally bring cars land, a monster’s inc dark ride, and if the tron ride doesn’t come to Disneyland park, then that could be re-themed to an incredibles motorcycle ride. I think I’m being very hopeful there though.

    • @themainstreetnews
      @themainstreetnews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JosJones-v1c Indeed! I always though an Animal Kingdom lands style park with IPs could work very well. Africa, South America, Asia, Europe. I’m actually working on a project where I design my third DLP park, and we’ll, let’s just say we got pretty close to what I’m doing haha.

      @@themainstreetnews of course I completely understand. I've had the opportunity to go there a few times through the years and I want to take my best friends and my brother with me next time I go, but since they'll be experiencing it for the first time I want to make sure we'll go in a time where construction walls won't ruin their experience. Summer or Fall of 2027 sounds like a good compromise.
      Also, regarding Disney Village I think that section desperately needed some love and I am quite pleased with most of the concept art but I wish they would build more stores and buildings like World of Disney, which is a beautiful store in the Village.

      The truly sad part is how much they are spending here instead of putting that into the actual parks. Look at the concept art for Production Courtyard/World Premiere Plaza. They're planting trees, painting over numbers and painting the one building grey. Keep Disney Village in its current ugly state if it would mean making the Studios un-ugly!

      It would be nice if the changes made to village actually had a story running through it too, something that made it fun to explore the shops, rather than essentially walking through a standard looking outlet space.
      Whilst its an improvement that is long overdue, it feels sterile and lacking imagination.
