Hi Hope, Robin here. These decisions are so personal. If you can, try to really give some space to consider each and every option you have and make sure you land with a decision that feels comfortably yours. Sending you healing wishes and lots of 💛

32 y.o. female - Diagnosed with stage 1 IDC (so far pre-surgery). My younger female doctor assumed I'd want to make an appt with a plastic surgeon to see options, but I said not at this time....waiting for genetic results, but at this age I've been leaning toward a double mastectomy.

Hi Anne, Robin here. Welcome to this space. The moments after a big diagnosis can be tough, yet they’re the same moments in which we’re asked (and we often need) to make challenging decisions. You’ll make the best choice for yourself with your healthcare team. However, if you think that they’re giving less attention to some of your options, you can always ask them to make more space to talk about whatever else you’re needing to focus on. Always ask every question on your mind until you feel comfortable enough. We are sending you so much love 💛

Surgeons, even women surgeons pressure women to have reconstructive surgery.
