Thank u for this video, I’m an 11 year old girl that is really passionate about crochet and knitting ,I really want to start making videos just for fun! Ur video is really helpful 😁
Thanks for all the tips! I’m trying to make it to my first 1000 subscribers so I appreciate you taking the time to help us small channels. I would love more like this in the future 😊
I’ve actually had my TH-cam channel for over 2 years, I have over 700 subscribers, the caveat is, I’m not always posting videos consistently because of my job. However, when I do post, I try to let my viewers know what I’ve been up to without giving out too much information. Thanks for all of your tips, I have been getting a better understanding of all of TH-cam’s requirements at least over the past year now, I’ll try to get better.
Hi katie! I am a recent fan but a really big one! Your are my idol and insperation and I hope oneday I can grow my chnnel to 1000 subscribers thanks to these tips!
Thanks Katie, great video. I am growing my channel and just found some great crochet ladies to sub to here in the comments! Im almost to 500! You had some great tips.
I appreciate your advice. Thank you so much. I have thought about starting a channel and actually played around with it for a minute but I have not made any videos that I would want to put on a channel, just a few shorts.
Thank you so much for this video Katie! So much great info! I started posting on my channel in March and would love to grow my channel! I am a stay at home mom and would love to make enough through YT to not have to go back to a corporate job when my youngest goes to kindergarten in August 💕
That would be awesome if you’re able to make enough money to not go back to work! You’re going so well on your channel so far, I think you’ll be there in no time :)
Loving all this advice!! I've just started and getting less than 10 views 🙈 but tbf, I have no idea what in doing lol!! I'll be taking what you've said on board 😊
Loved the video! Had lots of great information! I'm hoping to grow my crochet business this year and decided to make youtube videos. Watching your videos somewhat inspired me to! Keep being creative 😉
Hi Katie Your video was really fun to watch. I am not a You Tuber and was just curious about how it all works. You did a great job explaining it. I will be checking out your channel now!
Thank you so much for this video, it has been so helpful! I have literally just started ( well changed my name with the aim to start uploading to the channel) and I clicked on your video first as I’ve watch lots of your previous videos so thank you so so much. Watch this space! It seems like it will be a lot of work but I will try and stick it out. Xxx
Thank you for this video. I'm just looking to start a channel soon. I am not sure where I want to go with it, just for fun, basically. So, not as much for business for me, but still helpful tips to keep in mind.
Thank you! There were a lot of good tips in this video! Since I love to watch TH-cam videos about crochet while I'm working on projects, I decided I would get my own channel started, to chat with fellow crocheters about the stuff we love. So far, I have three videos uploaded, with plans for three or four more coming up. It's just a matter of trying to find the time to do them. And not having a bad hair day. 😳 I was given the gift of a bag full of yarn today, and wants to do a unboxing video of it, but I was out in the wind and snow running errands today and just couldn't bring myself to get in front of the camera! Too tired, hair a mess, not feeling cheerful enough. Hopefully tomorrow!
So glad you found this helpful and I totally understand that! Same thing happens to me pretty often so I try to make sure I have videos pre-filmed incase I’m unable to film a new one for whatever reason :)
It is indeed "niche" and not "nitch" (french speaker here) I still think it would be good for a crocheter to collab with a gamer though, then you can make a series of videos making gaming relating items, and boom, you just cathered to both audiences and grew your channel :P potentially even got more people interested in crochet.
That is true! I was just meaning ideally finding someone that makes the same kind of videos as you would likely give both of you the best results after doing a collab :)
Hello! Thank you very much for your content and for all of your tips! You are bringing a lot of inspiration to me! I was wondering, what kind of video editing software to you like to use to edit your you tube videos? Or how do you film while you crochet? =)
Thank you for these tips! I have found your videos so inspiring watching them the last week or so. Your videos helped me to get the courage to try the TH-cam route since you're so down-to-earth and unpretentious and I feel like I'm just watching a good friend explain stuff and not some super-slick out-of-touch professional craft show host, if that makes sense. I'm just getting started trying to make a business out of crochet, going to craft fairs, and looking to start a TH-cam channel. I'll hopefully have my first crochet video up tonight. (I have a couple other more farm-related videos up already.)
Aw thank you so much! I always want my videos to come off as just two friends chatting so I’m so glad you think they’re that way and I’m so glad you for the tips helpful! Best of luck on your channel! 🥰
@@katiebeingcreative I finally got my video up! My computer crapped out and had to spend a few days in computer hospital, but she's feeling much better now. th-cam.com/video/MLJjwjJyJxc/w-d-xo.html
Do you think that within the youtube crochet community that if I make something that was inspired by another youtube crocheter, that its okay to do so, tell viewers who and put a link to their video in the in the description box without asking them specifically? Or always get permission? Any thoughts on that would be so appreciated. I feel like, especially in the beginning, I worry that I might not be perfect yet and the idea that someone might start a project and somehow not be able to finish it, like if I leave something out. I would feel more confident if there was another youtuber who has something similar enough that their yarn would work to make something similar like a baby blanket as an example. Any thoughts?🤔💜💜💜
Hi Katie i just started watching your chanel this month (may 2023)! I found you on q suggestion from Alyssa G.! I just started being consistent on my channel with posting videos and learning to edit! Ive been doing markets since October and now am trying to geow my youtube (only 32 subs) by showing market days/setups and yarn hauls. Do you have any advice for breaking into crochet with mes? I have only just started learning to edit so most of my videos are all in one shot! Thanks for making awesome content!!
Hi Katie 🥰 I am actually new to your channel. I've watched like 3 videos of yours one after the other. It all started with "How many bees I can crochet in a day" to "what I made for the next market and how much I made" and finally this video. Even though I have had my TH-cam channel for over a year now this video was really helpful and very informative. Thank you so much for these videos! Definitely would love to see more videos around this topic. A like and new subscriber is coming your way. 🌺🌻🌸
Great video! I always learn something new from you. I am def growing my channel and looking for collaborators for crotchet plushies or afghans or potholders. Lolz. I am willing to do challenge too. My info is on my about page. I am a moms age but willing to work with any age youtuber. Thank you Katie for commenting on my channel and social media's too! This takes time & effort too! Also, a great item to point out is the importance of playlists. I would research if the playlist shared from another channel views contributes to your watch time views. Also shorts are being pushed too. A requirement for monetization other than 4000 watch time views on your regular vids or 10 million on shorts for the year. Also recycling other videos that are 2 years or more that did well. I haven't tested this theory. My tutorials I did of another youtuber went real well last year. Tysm for following... and for sharing your talents with us!!
Of course! And thank you for always commenting, as you know it really helps out and means a lot! :) and yes, playlists are another great way to group similar types of videos together so that viewers can find them and are more likely to watch them!
I want to start my own crochet business so badly, but the thought of having to promote my business through social media makes me super uncomfortable and feel completely overwhelmed. I am not a big user of social media in general - I watch YT a lot, and sometimes TikTok - but I don’t ever post anything. I just am not comfortable showing my face, and I feel like my voice is not very suited for voice overs. It’s quite unpleasant and boring to listen to, in my opinion. I just don’t have the personality for it! It’s super frustrating. Plus, my knowledge of visual tech is…entirely blank. Does that mean I’m screwed? If so, then that actually hurts because all I’ve wanted to do for the passed year or so has been to make money doing what I love, and that’s crochet.
You shouldn’t be worried at all I started selling my crochet around 3 months ago at a farmers market and it went very well. It is hard to start because you have to have alot of inventory but the more you sell the more you know. I would just go for it and see how it does I’m sure you’ll do great! ❤
Hey katie i just saw your post on kristencrochets channel. I think thats mighty generous and thoughtful of you to boost other channels. Ive been watching you for a while now and find you so inspirational, especially to the younger generation. It tickles me pink to see young people such as yourself crochet, especially amigurumi. My daughter mentioned to me the other day that her classmates were crocheting amigurumi during science class. I squealed in delight. I also find your craft market content very interesting and inspiring. If you have the time, i would love for you to check out my channel.
Thank you so much, I’m so glad you enjoy my videos and find them inspirational! And that is so awesome to have more young people crocheting amigurumi!!

You mentioned about how you ramble and you do a little. My only tip for that would be to edit your videos. Cut out the dead air and the urms
