I was diagnosed When little and didn't medicate until 29 y/o on IR Ritalin, meditation was more powerful for me than medication, but you gotta do it as often as you can for a long time.
What a gift and I thank you deeply. These videos to help sharpen their tools are priceless to our family. we encourage you to share more as this one has been life changing
I gave a try and I didn't need to worry - my son loved trying out the new game I learned from 'the internet'. I explained him that this monster is like the TRex in Jurassic Park who only can notice you if you don't move (I know that this isn't correct). As soon, as I started sniffing, he started to giggle and wiggle... after some time, he could lie still, but wiggled his fingers or toes to get the monster's attention. (also we had some issues you certainly don't have with your daughter😅). I don't know if it was really helpful and he wants to do it again, but in any case we had a fun time together. So thank you again for sharing this idea.❤
6:29 Restraining Impulses - focusing on one thing - staying still 7:41 Focus on 1 Object - pay attention to 1 sense - like touch 10:20 Formal Meditation - combining the above two 14:50 Summary
I grew up a nerd in the 90s, so I was into martial arts and the idea of meditation. I’ve been recently diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, and I’m 90% sure that the “meditation” practice I improvised for myself (plus mild self-medication with caffeine) really mitigated most of my attention deficit.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! My younger son (who will be 8 in a month) is a 'might or might not have ADHD' kid and as I meditate myself regularly the thought of teaching him to meditate is attractive to me. At the same time, I know he hates it when I try to teach him stuff ('Your not my teacher, mom!')... I guess that's because it gives him the feeling that I don't fully accept him the way he is. So even if I 'just play games with him', he might see through it. I feel it would be easier if his dad or another close person who's not his primary attachment figure would do it (but that's no real option right now)... Well, I'll just ask him if he wants to play the game with me and we'll see...
I don't have any kids but watching this for my inner kid who never learned or had support for her adhd
Is it weird that I'm watching this for myself, not my kids? Not sure if they have ADHD or not, but i think i do.
How are you gonna sniffer gobbler yourself though
It's very genetic. If you have they might as well but there's different severities.

6:57 just tell your wife "hey babe, I'm gonna need you to sniff me and if I move AT ALL you gotta gobble me up "
I enjoy this channel, as a 20 y/o guy still living with his mom. Keep up the great work!
I love how relatable it is. You’re doing amazing work dr k

I work with neurodivergent children for a living and will be playing this game! Thank you, Dr. K!!
Finally someone who gives actual and practical techniques to deal with adhd
This video should be shared with schools and paediatric services.
Just see this on my way to work but can't wait to do this with my kids this afternoon. Thx Dr. K you really help us changing things❤
I learned the magic of meditation during the pandemic and it really helped to ground me and focus without medication. Thank you for spreading this!

Great content
Has this showed any positive changes Dr. K? I'm curious to know
What if your child is already a teenager?
Why does he use the expression "neuroatypical" instead of "neurodivergent"?
Maybe the "divergent" can imply a negative connotation and he decided to neutralize it
Dr K's sideburns are distracting.
Power moves only
