      @BigJonkulous ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ghost-jp5qn I'm not Bradley Boyer, but according to the geological record there have been some truly unimaginable cataclysms that were caused by nature, with zero human involvement. Also that the Earth goes through natural climate cycles that humans cannot affect in a meaningful way. That's not to say humans are having no impact on Earth's climate, and more importantly the lives of our fellow man, but it's small potatoes compared to the destruction that can come from space.

    • @Ghost-jp5qn
      @Ghost-jp5qn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BigJonkulous The earth does go through natural cycles, even catastrophic natural cycles. The earth has gone through ice ages and periods of warming many times before. Where you are wrong is in your belief that humans cannot affect the Earth in a meaningful way. We can and we do. Look up the hockey stick graph for just one of many prime examples. Everything you said about violent cataclysms happening without humans being involved is also true. It just doesn't negate the impact human activity can have on the climate. There are many ways species can disappear- sudden cataclysms like meteors or flooding that wipe out many organisms immediately and then have lasting detrimental effects. Slow dying-out through naturally changing climates like ice ages, or in our current case- organisms can shape the world around them in a way that causes their space to no longer support them. For example, when there are no predators in an area, deer may overpopulate and eat all of their available food. With no available food left, many deer starve to death, causing a sharp decline in their population. There is even a case where this overeating by deer (elk, in this specific case) caused rivers to change their shape, because the lack of vegetation caused erosion that destabilized the sides of the river. Animals are able to change the world around them in significant ways. The thing is, through technology humans have a lot more power than most other animals. This is essentially what is happening with humans. We are making the world uninhabitable for ourselves.

More importantly it makes humanity more adaptable.. the advent of rockets and space tech can allow us to live outside of earth.. nanotechnology could allow food to be replicated from base elements like Star Trek food replicators, also make building things like a spaceship easy just programs the nanobots and wait for them to build it.. just imagine how adaptable humans would be with just those two things.. tech is humanity’s edge on this universe and our greatest strength..

    This guy has completely lost the plot.
    Also, Miguel de Cervantes wasn’t born until the mid 1500’s, and didn’t come into prominence until the beginning of 1600. Assuming he spoke out of error, I’m nearly done reading Don Quijote (in Castellano) and cannot recall a single reference to overpopulation 🤷🏿‍♂️

      Oops... thank you for correcting me on that slip-up. I am pretty sure the population of the planet even in 1605 was less than the Georgia Guidestone-recommended 500 million, so why would Cervantes have mentioned it? Please point out anywhere in this video that I claimed Cervantes mentions overpopulation. He certainly brushes up against it in the famous "roasting acorns with the goatherds" soliloquy, probably the single best Doomer epistle ever written.

    • @edurado1996
      @edurado1996 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have to absolutely disagree with you on that end, as it’s more of an allegory to simpler times and potentially an ode to socialist ideology, which would make sense during an undeveloped era.
      Correct me if I’m wrong, but is not there entire premise of your doomsday ideology that we (as the human race) are at tipping point right now? Is that not the correlation you’ve made between Cervantes and doomers?

I say that before all is said and done, mankind will be the only creature on earth walking on all fours. And it's fiat currency that is putting the pedal to the metal.
