- How much ground clearance does the new Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road Lunar Rock have?
I will be building out this Tacoma to be a utilitarian gold mining and overlanding rig for the mountains of Colorado. This is a 2022 Tacoma and is identical to a 2023 Tacoma.

How's your stuff fitting on the inside? Are you planning to make a storage shelf where the back seats are?
It's tight Samuel. I am coming from a larger truck and do carry quite a bit of gear with me at all times. Yes, I do plan on doing a back seat delete here soon and have already started planning storage solutions.
The back seat shelves are very functional.
I have a 2021 TRD ORDC 4x4 with 1.5 inch lift in the front and 1 inch lift in the rear with fox by pass shocks on all 4 corners and bought the TRD pro wheels and wrapped them with 265/75R16 toyo AT3’s which are 32inch tall , this combo is light so it will allow you to have good amount of ground clearance but retain your power , fuel milage and also your low gearing in 4LO . I had 33’s and didn’t see that much difference in clearance for off road , but what I did notice was fuel mileage dropped by 4mpg , with 33’s and lost the low gearing that I had when it was stock, and I felt the need to regear the truck so when I went back to 32’s performance came right back , just a heads up…
Wow! 4mpg's lost with 33's. That's brutal.. I'm planning on switching to 17"x8" rims and 265/70/17 which are 31.9" tall. The tires I am looking at weight 44lbs each. How much do the AT3's weight?
The Toyo AT3’s that I have are about 42-44lbs but what’s helping me out are the TRD PRO wheels they only weigh 20lbs , the off road wheels you have now are about 24lbs a pc , so the light wheels and tires make a big diff in performance, many people don’t know about the sprung and unsprung weight.
Sorry the Toyo AT3 that I have are 41 Lbs a pc and are 31.7 inch tall
Get kd max tune you be really happy with mph transmission will shift very smooth
Did you get a level or lift? If level what kit and did it level it? I have the TRD wheels 16 inch and trying to decide what tire size I should go to.

Can’t decide between a taco and 4Runner. I’m leaning more towards a taco
4runner may be put together better in Japan but Taco is more fun has a bed and has 1,000 + lbs more towing capacity.
You’re actually 6800 pounds towing capacity and the four-door short bed is 6400 pounds. We have both Tacoma’s 2017. It’s the same for yours!!!!!!

I would have liked the LED's but the halogens seem fairly bright to me. Hehe, congrats on the surprise heated seats!

Looking forward to your build. I bought a 2022 TRD Sport 4x4 Access Cab, really wanted the six speed manual in an Access Cab so I had to forego the Offroad Package.
