The way she is now, she is thinking about turning her feet, so her body is in the wrong position.
This analogy will put her in the right position and change the weight properly to allow the skis to make the turns for her.
She is pedaling a bicycle down the hill while balanced on one pedal at a time. Her hands are on the handlebars. Have her ski quickly across the slope in a traverse, balanced on her downhill ski.
When she wants to make a new turn, have her point the front tire down the hill and get off her downhill pedal and balance on the uphill pedal. That body position and quick weight change will allow her skis to make the new turn.
2:55 here is what is wrong with her thinking and actions which are all caused by incorrect TEACHING in her past. Watch her push and twist her right leg to Make the skis change direction. That is a direct result of being taught snowplow and stem turns. Forcing the ski to turn instead of letting it turn by doing what it needs from you.
Watch her uphill or outside leg stiffen which pushes her upper body into the hill instead of allowing it to lean down the hill and over her turning ski. She isn't balanced ON IT, she pushes it away from her just like she has always been taught.
3:12 Look how she is leaning away from the right ski instead of balancing On it which would allow the ski to turn. If she pointed her hands Down the hill and took her weight Off the left foot prior to this turn, she would be balanced On that right foot instead of pushing it away from her. Again, this is a result of being taught to snowplow and stem turns.
Watch her STEER her turns with her shoulders and pelvis. That puts every part of her body in the wrong place, so the skis just change direction, they don't turn. Notice how her skis are very hard on the edges after every turn instead of sliding around and making arched turns. Watch her hands turn to the sides instead of straight down the hill. She is over rotating her entire upper body.
3:12 This is a Horrible result and is far away from what she needs to be doing!!! I can't emphasize that enough! When she hits steep or icy conditions, she will have no chance to control her speed.
3:30 This fall was caused by not having the correct frame of mind of what is needed to allow the skis to turn. She didn't think of unweighting her right foot, all she did was think about turning so she did it with her shoulders, instead of doing what the skis needed her to do.
4:00 Don't think about straightening that uphill or outside ski because the natural reaction will be to Push the skis away or push your upper body away. Either one will cause all the problems she is already having. Think of pointing your hands down the hill and getting off your downhill foot. Every part of your body will be in the right place to allow the ski to turn. If you focus on individual parts, all the other parts will be in the wrong place.
That's enough. That's all you need to know.

Thank you. This was filmed on 2 different slopes on the Matterhorn glacier paradise,
The slope from the very to and the slope accessed from Furggsattel chair lift
