- This is the second of two Charlotte Walks. After a few days visiting with family, we continued on to Charlotte, NC. Home to several professional sports teams and lots of music venues, NASCAR Charlotte Motor Speedway, and even a whitewater kayaking course, the "Queen" city is a major financial and banking hub in the South. Named for Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and is the county seat of Meklenburg courthouse. There's about 2.6million people in the metro area and traffic proved this out. The downtown area was somewhat decorated for Christmas and relatively quiet for a weekday morning. This is the first of two virtual walks I did in Charlotte. Let me know in the comments below if I missed anything or if I got something wrong. Also, please share your Charlotte experiences with us and if you use these for exercise, stress relief, or just for fun. I love hearing from you all. -Henry

I used to go to a lot of minor league baseball games as a kid living in Rhode Island. The Triple A team of the Boston Red Sox played just a few miles from where I lived. I agree with you that it is an enjoyable time and, for me at least, better than actual major league games, where negative behavior seems amplified. The minor league stadium you showed us in the walk is quite nice and made me nostalgic. Thanks as always, Henry.
Nice. I went to a few over in MD when I lived outside DC. Good times. Cheers. -H
Thanks for this one! The opening shot was awesome btw!
Oh thanks. -H
Nice walk
Thanks so much. -H

Thank you so much 😀
Downtown Greenvulle SC is a beautiful Green Citly.
I'd love to check it out some time. Thanks Cindy. -H
Been off the grid so I’m way behind! First off it’s Carolina Panthers for the NFL team. Not Charlotte Panthers.
Charlotte FC is going to be a part of the MLS league beginning this year! I’m excited to see them come into the league from the second tier of American Soccer.
Haven’t been to Charlotte but I will be relocating to NC and will be able to see my Orlando Lions when they come to town.
Finally, I’m pretty sure that was a brass hornet as the basketball team is called the hornets. Could be wrong on that one because I think you mentioned Hornets in the first video.
Hope you’ve been well. Look forward to catching up with you over the next couple days.
Be well.
Right. Thanks for the clarification. I think you are right about the horn as well. Hope your move goes well. - H
🙂🙂👍👍🍀🍀
Thanks so much. -H

Thanks so much Deb. -H
That's an attractive city. I'm intrigued by the scooters abandoned all over the place in all the larger cities (I'm a country mouse too!). Are they rentals?
Ignore that Henry. You answered my question about scooters just after I sent it.
Ahh. Ok. They are actually kind of fun to ride if you ever get the chance. Hope you are well. -H
almost 700 000 people Charlotte has! Where are they ?
Out of the rain and in their offices I suspect. Thanks for watching and commenting. - H
Have you traveled to Virginia is a big place
HI Gregory, I used to live there actually. I just haven't filmed any walks there. I really should though. So many great cities, towns, and parks. Cheers. -H
Bummed that no videos were done as you came through here after looking forward to them for the weeks as you talked about your trip.
I can’t understand the excitement over scooters left all around cities in the middle of sidewalks and not once have I seen one being utilized in your videos. A public eyesore of a different kind, seems to need some better regulation around them.
The thought of all electric transportation at this point is actually scary as my understanding is there is no recycling of the batteries the cars use and will more than likely be an environmental nightmare. A good idealistic dream I suppose anyway?!
Hi Steve, sorry to disappoint. I had limited time in the area and chose to prioritize family time. Maybe a good reason to make another trip. I certainly enjoyed getting back to the area.
I agree with you about the way scooters are often left higgledy piggledy on the sidewalks but they are pretty handy if you need to get around a city after a long day of walking. I did that in D.C later in the trip. It could definitely use some regulation and accountability.
Also good point about the need to continue developing recycling programs for the batteries. They've made a lot of progress on that front already but the industry still needs continued pressure to ensure they address the recycling issue. It would be a shame to trade one pollution mess for a lesser but still significant one.
He say nothing about charlotte Population are the metropolitan Population
I mentioned it in the first video. -H
