  • Hello and welcome to my latest video.
On 2nd March I went to Exeter St Davids, and this is my first time visted the station.
I thought it was amazing, it has so much to offer. There are so many different varieties of tractions, and so many trains frequently come in and out every few minutes.
I really like the station architecture, and also the both views are brilliant.
Really like the little railway crossing on the line that looks towards Taunton & Bristol. Trains you will see in this video are GWR Hitachi 800, DMU 158, 150, Turbos 165, 166, HST Class 43, SWR 158, Cross Country Trains Voyagers, HST 43.
You see plenty of GWR 150, which I do miss when they used to run Portsmouth- Cardiff route.
GWR Castle Sets are n process of been phased out from the mainline.and they will be replaced by 5 car Hitachi set! Very sad to know that very soon there will be no HST left. Whatever Cross Country will continue on running theirs or not just have to wait and see.
Overall fantastic station and it’s worth a visit, especially if you are fan of 158 & 150.
Apologies for the sound quality as it was a bit windy which had interfered with my audio a little.
If you like what you have seen please give it a like and subscribe to me for more content.
And please feel free to leave a comment.
Until my next video will see you next time.
    🙂

It's always nice trainspotting there especially when it's busy and you see the trains running alongside each other into the station

Was planning to come here as I’m sort following GWR line as I started that last year. Got the first GWR out of Portsmouth Harbour to Salisbury at 6:00, as I’m currently living in Gosport but moving soon somewhere in Fareham. And then caught SWR 158 from Salisbury direct to Exeter which took me 2 hours, so it was 3 hour journey, and same on way back so it was all straight forward. Needed to come here especially for GWR HST castle sets as they sadly in process of been withdrawn.

@@joes-trainproductions5987 true, also I guess the timer is also running on 150s too.

@@pinza55007 I can’t see GWR getting rid off them anytime soon as they are putting them to good use to serve Exeter - Paignton, Exmouth & Okehampton. And there isn’t any trains that can replace. They can’t replace them with Turbos as they using them for Portsmouth - Cardiff & Reading - Basingstoke route. But I agree 150 are old. At lest it gives us all a bit of old BR feel.

@Joe S - Train Productions I thought that about 313s lol. The 455s too. And the 455 is the electric version of 150. You are probably right, but the clock starts ticking as soon as they enter service.

There are a few that are polished up and shiny, it’s only because only they weren’t looked after a little bit. They only just need cleaning up.
