I have been wondering why she is so enigmatic and otherworldly for some time now and I haven't been able to figure out why. This comment helped though because I think she has a way of leading people back to godly ways in a unique way. I think many people feel this way but in a world where much of this kind of spirit seems lost she expresses a divine presence very easily and so it inspires hope, and more or less, just damn good taste that still lies within some of the younger generation.
@@arktikfoxtrix exactly shes showing the younger generation that art brings us closer to God. And shes such a kind humble person its like shes reached some sort of higher conciseness im so glad that we have her to spread happiness
She has the same kind of lisp that I do. I've had a hard time my entire life verbalizing how I feel or what I mean but when I write I sound like an entirely different person. It's really nice seeing someone who may be the same way. I grew up in Southern California. I say 'like' at least once a sentence.
The vibe of this *_perfectly_* fits the aesthetic aura of her earlier music. Love this! Claire always has the expression of childlike wonder on her face. Her eyes are bright and wide open...and she's always got a knowing smirk. But...beneath all that is a really creative idiosyncratic dark beauty. And yeah...this video just captures that dichotomy perfectly. Well done!
+ShaquonThomas Not only sing well. Clair composes & performs her own music, plays instruments live, mixes & improvises live on stage, moves her body to the rhythm, and can sing in tune & on beat, all at the same time. /watch?v=c_Njqli972I

Halloween is less than 100 days away.......and I'm watching this to get myself excited for it. I can't wait. o___o I love this era of Grimes.....the weird modern techno goth phase. Miss it lol...
She is so completely and utterly different, so individualised and doesn't give a shit about it, its awesome! I love her and I love her whole view on the world. She's so interesting!!!
Can you remember when you were first taught about ghosts? Have you been deceived into conjuring ghosts into existence in your own mind? What your mind can spell it can also dispel. What brings meaning into ancient runes? Surely it is the understandings and misunderstandings in our minds. Though we moved through the moments before to get to this moment now, who can copy a 3D you from a moment before into a next or future moment to live again? If you see yourself will you turn and run in fear, or will you give a kiss, a hug, a warm embrace? Thank you for sharing.
It's all the small things that made this early non industry influenced Grimes such an interesting character. Spot on! We both caught onto the same things ahah
This is a glimps of the back in the days when she used to be 100% herself. She was lost around 2015 when she signed with a mainstream record label, and now she's one of the elite. :(
Where tf i can find instrumental version of weregild that is playing at the beginning of the video it seems like its only available here please HHEELLPP
A capella unknown song #3- it is lullaby in russian of the great writter Lermontov М.Ю. Лермонтов Спи, младенец мой прекрасный, Баюшки-баю. Тихо смотрит месяц ясный В колыбель твою. Стану сказывать я сказки, Песенку спою; Ты ж дремли, закрывши глазки, Баюшки-баю.
I don't believe she is using it as a 'psychological tactic'. I do think she is intelligent and perhaps she does struggle with words. I use bad language myself, being working class and not really bothered about sounding intelligent. I would not think of chastising her for her these words as it shows she isn't afraid of being herself.
Someone pointed out that she uses 'like' in the same way people use the word 'umm'. It's also a habit some young girls form, she'll grow out of it. I wish people would get over it. It isn't really annoying enough to mention, & her ability to give us the interesting & unique far exceeds the importance of her speech impediment. The youtube comment section in all her interview vids are filled with comments about the word 'like'/ What about the music and art? That should be the focus, imho.
"like" predated "um" in its use as a pause when speaking at least. It was a part of southern California valley girl speak from the 80's, but it's become a normal way of speaking
I noticed that too. haha. She seems like an intelligent girl who's gotten comfortable using that language. She should try to change it because it makes her sound...like she doesn't have words I guess. Which I know she does.
at the 1:00 minute mark, What is talking about that piece of art in the background? Did she draw it? I thought I did hear she was an artist... thanks in advance
She's not stupid, that's just her style of speaking. I think she expresses herself better in emotions and images.
Weregild is her best song.
geidi primes is the superior album
@@guitaria6 um its halfaxa
no lie
Grimes is so cute when she smiles. Adorable
This is what Grimes is all about she is DIVINE and godly and sacred
