I have noticed she doesn't have kids. She didn't mention her period or people with health issues, disabilities, wear adult diapers etc. She's doing her great part, but I think more has to be done in government legislation of how companies manufacture goods to begin with. Give us less packaging, stop making plastic bottles etc.
She likely either uses a form of birth control that stops her period entirely or has found a menstrual cup that works for her. Well-being and health comes first, so those with health issues and disabilities won't be able to be at this level, but there are things they could do to reduce their waste without putting their health at risk. For example, they can do their best to buy their jams and peanut butters in glass jars. I've also found yogurt in glass jars.
Low waste/low buy here. Easy start tips for everyone who is interested. You can begin with stopping shopping fast fashion, avoid plastic, buy second hand, buy ecological packages instead of plastic ones, make your own diy stuff, stuff like beans, lentils, rice, pasta can be easily found in ecofriendly packages. Also fresh produce such as vegetables and fruits are good.
We should do it...is the only way to save the planet...we need to work on it..we are too lazy we want everything packed and in bottles! Why?if we can do it ourselves?
We've cut down on buying stuff a lot too, but I hope people realize that end consumer packaging often only accounts for 5% of a product's footprint. And glass bottles take more gas to transport less product.
Start by making small changes, any small change is a good start. It's a shame because I've seen so many uk supermarkets which charge a little extra for loose vegetables, whereas the ones in plastic packaging are cheaper. Yes we can do our bit but it's the big corporations who need to make changes
I do a little but not 100 % Zero-Waste yet. It's a challenge but I have improved. At first a lot of thought goes into remembering and thinking things through (mentally exhausting) but now I do steps without even thinking about it. I'm not perfect but I'm improving
You can ask the sellers not to include any additional plastics when shipping and also just flint buy off of Amazon. I’ve found other companies like Well that don’t use a bunch of plastic to ship items.
I plan to live this lifestyle, but there are things that I will not make myself and stuff. I would rather get the top of the line stuff like Oral-B products and stuff. The main thing would be shopping for me
also, it's pretty insane that someone who lives such an extremely conscientious lifestyle in fucking NEW YORK remains so understanding and nonjudgmental toward the mindset of a standard-waste life style.
Yeah, like spending a day with her is really showing you her true reality. I'd like to live with her for six month or a year and than see if she truly lives zero waste like. BTW: check this out: th-cam.com/video/DQW5w9yAWgE/w-d-xo.html
Not as indepth as I thought this video would be ... maybe could've showed some products she still chooses to buy (or how to deal with all the waste-products we have before going zero waste during transition to 0 waste)
This lifestyle is unreachable by made middle-income families. The bulk store nearest me is about 45 minutes away and it's expensive. I'm mixed Black and my hair requires special products not available at bulk stores. Also, I work to sustain my family and it's hard to make time to prepare all my products at home. I do my best at getting things packaged in glass and try to get recycled toilet paper. And also, after visiting Germany in 2000 and seeing that people using the stores' plastic bags where charged at least .25 Euros for them, I started using reusable bags and that has never stopped since then, with the exception of pandemic delivery and drive up.
All bags now have to be biodegradable here. It costs almost an euro for a biodegradable or a paper bag. I usually get paper bags since my cats enjoy destroying it in a matter of hours.
We do not want few people doing zero waste perfectly , we want millions of people doing zero waste imperfectly.
We're screwed either way, remember climate change? We can't buy our way out of this?

Great video ✌️
Someone please ask her about her amazon packages. I’m very curious to know how she avoids it all
You can ask the sellers not to include any additional plastics when shipping and also just flint buy off of Amazon. I’ve found other companies like Well that don’t use a bunch of plastic to ship items.
You can also compost it if you have a compost bin.
Damn these two are vibin' hard.
ikr their chemistry is insane it almost feels cinematic
Mother Earth applauds her
It'd be great if people thought the same of human lives.
Porch light on in the daytime perfect example of waste
Thank you, what a beautiful and useful video.
I plan to live this lifestyle, but there are things that I will not make myself and stuff. I would rather get the top of the line stuff like Oral-B products and stuff. The main thing would be shopping for me
Now there's toothpaste that comes in packaging that's zero waste, friendly.
I have a bamboo toothbrush too!
also, it's pretty insane that someone who lives such an extremely conscientious lifestyle in fucking NEW YORK remains so understanding and nonjudgmental toward the mindset of a standard-waste life style.
I just think about the trash from ONE Starbucks and I'm like well maybe not today.
Didn’t they all ready upload this?
Yeah, like spending a day with her is really showing you her true reality. I'd like to live with her for six month or a year and than see if she truly lives zero waste like. BTW: check this out: th-cam.com/video/DQW5w9yAWgE/w-d-xo.html
Is it just me or does the interviewer seem very unenthused to be doing this interview and only worried about the judgement of others?
Goals. Not at her level yet, but I'm getting there!
I just brush with a brush and water.
She reach Hipster level 96%.
this is an old vice video, why would they reupload??? @vice whats up?
Because now it's a trend topic and they want new views lol
I haven’t seen it yet so fuck off
Because it’s their new channel « vice asia »
cool video
Aww this is definitely pre covid.
Not as indepth as I thought this video would be ... maybe could've showed some products she still chooses to buy (or how to deal with all the waste-products we have before going zero waste during transition to 0 waste)
I am now a hundred percent sure that she swallows. Zero waste life let's go
You are my good
That’s nasty
Maybe it's in her waste jar. 😂
Little by little think most people can, i liked it and I wouldn’t be turned off by it. I think its pretty cool
Bagusnya
Rich industrilist: damn we are going to get broke.
no
I love that the videos ends with "she's a normal person. She just makes less trash" Love! Same goes for me yey
I like the idea of it more than the actions
I feel like the interviewer and her should swap. She’s got so much energy the interviewer seems “too cool”
“ there’s like no bulk sections at the airport “ - Zero Waste Stevie
That comment confused me. Isn't flying a big no-no from an environmental perspective?
That is an important topic
Aw man... im eating snacks stored in plastic and I feel ashamed.
A cool video. I really enjoyed that. I am trying to be zero waste. It's a challenge:). No way back now:).
Damn she is "future"...... Awesome
i feel so lucky to have a rich lesbian tell me how to live from her $12,000/month apartment
Lol
why is this on Vice Asia??
Love to see what stevie no waste was like before
