Here's a quick translation, I tried to be as faithful as possible with it. (Warrior of life) Int: have you loaded your batteries? Lop: we sure have batteries loaded, the pause was very good for the band, without it, the band might have quit. We were roughly half a year without doing anything relating to the band, after that everything started going again and we'll have the energy to keep going, though it might not seem like that at the moment. Int: do you have anything to say? Lai: Not really, that was most of it. Of course we are eager to get the album out and get playing live. So the batteries are loaded, so to say. (Noose) Lai: When we think about the albums we have made, this one has probably the highest variety of different kinds of songs. If you try to think of a song that would give a good picture of the whole album, there is no such song. Int: How is the composing work divided, or rather composing and lyrics? Who made what? Lop: It's pretty much like it has been before. Tenkula composes most of the songs. Then we make some. Then me and Ville make lyrics to them. So same old model. Int: There's been talk of the band changing, and it has changed somewhat or that's the impression I got [from the new album]. What do you see as being the things that have changed? Lop: I have an itch in my groins that it's spreading simultaneously in multiple directions. On one hand, there's more rock style songs than what we've had before, and on the other hand, more tranquil songs than we've had, and they are in a good harmony on one album. That's probably how it differs the most from previous albums. And arrangements have been thought out very precisely song by song, to be as far as possible from the easy-made bullshit you hear a lot these days. (Aika multaa muistot) Int: how about cooperation with the producer? Have you had similar thoughts or a lot of disagreements? Lai: There's always a bit of disagreement on some issues, but it has been surprisingly easy. Hiili [Hiilesmaa] figures out what we are going for with our ideas and he tries to change something here and there - not gonna happen. But really, has been surprisingly good relationship, he has mostly understood what we're trying to achieve, and mostly painless... Maybe even we've got some things working and changed to better with Hiili, so rather there's more good than bad ideas coming from him. (Noose)
