I think this is my new favourite channel! I’ve just binge watched this build. I found it looking for locost builds which I started myself 20 years ago and abandoned due to meeting future wife and consequently kids. I’m hoping to start a similar build in 2023. Keep up the good work. Love the humour and banter guys. Keep it up.

A man with a new (to him) bigger tool. That’s a happy man!

Is this video just all about watching paint dry ? Loving it....

Shhhhh, if no one points it out, maybe no one will notice. (Still more interesting than tiktok)

What an incredible transformation; from a bundle of square tube and a "squeak" MX5, to something recognisable as a car. For me this happened over the last week while watching all of the episodes from the beginning.
I admire your commitment to the project on a shoestring and love how you explain each task in easy-to-understand steps.
Getting that engine started and eventually running was a real moment and must have really fuelled your motivation.
When you showed us the used Westfield SE bodywork I thought "what a pile of Squeak" but I'm amazed to see how well you managed to make it all fit.....give or take a bit of "Mingebagery".
I noted that you plan to track her and wondered if you planned to get the diff housing arms reinforced? The arms are designed to break during an impact but can cause problems when combined with the LSD and track tyres or just too much torque and abuse.
    Keep up the good work.👍

Thank you so much for the warm feedback. Funnily enough the diff reinforce is on the cards, hence it still looking so scabby!!

Nice colour. The good news is that you didn't find any missed welds, or members in the chassis. Most of the work in painting is the prep. Keep on keeping on.

I wish I was this far along with mine. Your new vise looks amazing. Hope you get this car on the road for next summer.

More than welcome to try out my brakes for size. standard non-sport brakes (255mm) decent pads, new (reman) calipers, braided lines, good fluid and it can lock up my semislicks fine, and i'm sporting probably an extra 3-400kg. Keep going!

Amazing build, just binge watched the whole lot 😁 Serious skills on show. My observations are, result on it being 6 inches wider, give you better balance and look cooler 😎
The triangulation over the chassis is spot, the only place it looks like it needs more is around the engine, I'd be concerned about flexing, but you probably know a lot more than me. Can't wait for the next episodes. Love Mechanical Hodor 😁👍

Thank you! Also good spot, I'm not finished buggering with the engine so final triangulation in there may be subject to change....

Not criticising a good job but tubular chassis are often finished grey coz stress cracks are easier to spot. Enjoy your channel best wishes from Australia.

Never thought of that! Good point. I change my mind like I change socks on this build, so if a colour change comes I'll keep that in mind!

Looks a lot nicer 😀 can you mount the vice nearer the bench edge means you can put longer work in without hitting bench....

Its as far out as I dare. I clobber a lot and its not that sturdy a bench

I'm building a different chassis than you, a McSorley 442E, and on that chassis, there are some triangulation tubes, at the left and right side of the engine(D1 & D2). How come yours does not have anything there? There are also some aussie mods as well, to strengthen even more the chassis. Do you plan on adding sway bars?

Proof a Scotsman, a paint brush and half a tin of _Extreme Chassis Black_ can make a huge difference to a chassis that's taken 47 episodes to get to this stage!
I've watched the series from the start (commenting on almost every video) - so, *do I win your old bench vice..??* 😉

Haha, aww I donated it to yellow MR2 Gianni. Check his car build series on here, I HATE his vice. He was due it!!
