same lmaoooo the more i hear the more confused i get, i fear. that’s ok though, we’ll know what’s actually happening and what’s coming when we get actual trailers, and until then im just like “oh NEAT” 😂
Don’t worry neither do they and they host a show 😂 honestly with Star Wars don’t believe it until you see a trailer. And if it’s a video game don’t believe it until there’s a release date
Q&A: Since the upcoming Rey film and/or Trilogy might going to have her become a Jedi Master and I think Finn might going to be similar to how Leia was handled. What is your ideal headcanon of Rey's Main Padawan Apprentice that might see who might be becoming the Ahsoka or Ezra version of the Rey movie Padawan before his or her reveal?
I really don't like the studio model these days of if a first movie or season of something isn't a huge success then the follow ups are immediately axed. Future seasons of TV shows are often when those shows get really good. Look at the Clone Wars for example. If Disney released season 1 of that show they probably would've axed any future seasons since season 1 was somewhat controversial back in the day. We never would've gotten Mortis, Umbara, Siege of Mandalore, etc. So many of the best Star Wars stories would never come to be. That's why the cancellation of a show like The Acolyte bugs me so much. Season 1 wasn't perfect but it was enjoyable and built a very strong foundation for future storytelling. But it didn't meet Disney's expectations (even though they claimed early on that viewership was good?) so it gets axed. I still hope to see that story continued in some format someday but man I wish Disney would green-light at least a couple seasons for their shows before immediately hitting the cancellation button. It's a miracle we're even getting a second season for Andor given that it didn't start with the best viewership either. George Lucas wasn't a perfect director but I do have a great respect for him for actually allowing stories to grow instead of stopping them the second it looks like it's not instantly making billions of dollars.
What? Star Wars was a major blockbuster from the jump. The only thing you might point to was the Clone Wars I guess....which he had already made a theatrical release to support....and he was fully into his "I'm doing whatever the hell I want" phase of life. Note all the OTHER SW projects you don't remember that were canceled early in their lives. Acolyte died because it cost a bajillion dollars and didn't move the needle otherwise.
Everybody’s got opinions when it’s not their money, it’s hard to justify streaming when a show is a success, telling investors you sent tens of millions of dollars into a project with a little reception isn’t really great business. On cable you could have a mediocre first season because you had ads and cheaper production costs, streaming is sink or swim.
Sequels to the sequel trilogy (😅) are one of 2 obvious paths for future movies. The other being Old Republic. The in between stuff needs to end imho, let the characters breathe and leave room open for deep cut books and comics. For sequels, bring back the last trio, let Finn be a Jedi, have them fight thrilling dark-siders (let's say Darth Talon 👀) and most importantly re-involve the political side like the prequels. That's my wishlist.
I wouldn't mind a movie to the quality of Andor. But making movies just to provide backstory needs to end. If they have a good story to share, that should be the deciding factor.
The issue with the Acolyte is that the casual fan base tried it, and it appears, decided it wasn't particularly good and walked away in sufficient numbers. Considering how obscenely expensive it was, it does feel like it was a no brainer to move on. They made the mistake of leaving many of the parts people were hoping for (getting deep into the Sith, Plagius, Yoda) until a second season they didn't even know they would have.
I think Star Wars films appeal is stories of nostalgia, mastery of power, perils and good vs evil. To enjoy any Star Wars films, you have to lighten up. Sometimes its about what fans bring into these shows that ruin the point. The Acolyte is a awesome series.
Rey stand-alone/ trilogy: I‘d love to see a proper story for her, slightly removed from the ST, since it felt like the writers of that trilogy never quite nailed her down as a character, I think. Having her as a mentor, maybe even played by a more senior actress. I think they should keep the budget reasonable so the movie doesn’t have to make a billion to break even. The first Shazam! Was a perfectly fine movie and made only 300 mil. and it was okay, because it wasn’t expensive to make relatively.
13:20 What? The sequels were George Lucas' ideas. He was just upset they didn't use his Microbiotic deep dive. Pretty much everything else aside from character changes was in his treatments.
George will always push for something least expected. He learned from the changes Marcia made and he changed the story from *Splinter of the Mind's Eye* because it was predictable.
Although the sequels were his idea and the current Lucas regime still possesses the treatments somewhere in their building, I doubt George would’ve executed Ep VIII the way Johnson did, or butchered the landing as badly as Abrams did with Ep IX. The sequels may have loosely followed his treatments, but the end products were the visions of the current regime. Until someone has permission from the Kremlin (I mean, Lucas/Disney) to divulge how they followed or deviated from the treatments, the public’s in the dark about how the sausage was really made.
@@maxo.9928 That shows how little you know of what Story Treatments are. They followed the story. The only things they changed were some of the characters and the microbiotic deep dive.
I adore the Ninth Jedi and think about it all the time. I hope we get a continuation. Love Margrave Juro and the tempered Kyber crystals that changed based on your alignment.
I love Rey. And whether you like Disney Star Wars or not, financially, a Rey movie or trilogy would be a disaster. Half the fandom won’t pay to see it. Again, politics and values aside, you simply don’t make a movie that will immediately piss off half your demographic. There’s plenty of greatness In the Star Wars universe that they can produce a film that the entire fandom praises together.
Visions: The Riskyverse, coming in 2025! 🤣 It’ll be interesting to see how Wookieepedia organizes itself if a continuity is established… if they make something like the Legends tab to help seekers find information. Visions isn’t my favorite Star Wars series, but I have really enjoyed a few of the episodes… so I was happy to hear this announcement. But to be honest, I’m excited for any and all Star Wars. Thanks for the roundup, as always!
Was the High Republic never supposed to be the place the films go? I’ve been confused for years now as to why we haven’t gotten a trailer for a new trilogy set back then
Episode 9 has to many non-sensical unresolved Palpatine plot-holes to be able to move forward into a new story. They gotta fix the existing story first.
Given the success rate (or lack thereof) of announcements vs actual releases, it seems better to assume something is not happening until there are actually trailers. Especially when something is actually removed from the schedule. In the Rey case, I'm just as happy for it to disappear and SW go in a fresher and less controversial (I don't have a better term) direction.
We might get a new darth plagues novel and he teaching darth sidious about the old republic just like dooku Jedi lost dooku and sifo taking about the high republic witch was first mentioned
There is no Rey movie or Rey Trilogy being made there are three new episodes being made featuring Rey Emergency Awesome has videos on this also Ahsoka season 2 starts being made next spring
I don't think they're planning for a trilogy and are just going to drop the single movie first and see how it does. Because it's totally possible that the Rey movie could flop, the sequel trilogy is pretty unpopular & a lot of people who actually did enjoy the sequels strongly disliked TROS - suffice to say the way the ST was handled burned a lot of people to that era. So I feel like they'll just drop a standalone movie and if it does well continue it, and if it doesn't do well they can just save face and say it was meant to be a standalone.
All I want from Rey movie is for her to find a way to bring Ben Solo back to life and for them to have the Happily Ever After that they should’ve had at the end of TROS.
Disney & Lucasfilm need to start fresh with a new trilogy. The decline in ticket sales from the Last Jedi & ROS showed the fanbase lost interest.Rey character could appear again as the Master Jedi who complete Grogu Jedi training
Why don’t they just do a trilogy with the first 3 High Republic adult novels? Those books would work great as movies and they can get away from the Skywalker saga
I literally don’t know anything about the release schedule and I watch this show weekly

I am still really hoping we get to see Jedi Finn in this new movie (or in any official aspect)!
Same here.
I still think your Skeleton Crew show should be called A Certain Point of Crew.

They are fools if they don't push the Rey movie to May 2027 for the 50th anniversary to cash in on that hype.
please we need a Rey trilogy!!!!! i need more star wars ! and we need a continuation of answering what we all want Father Son and Daughter replacement
I'd like the Rey trilogy. I want to move past the Palpatine stuff. Now she can be herself like Rian Johnson tried to set up.

Thanks, Mollie! Thanks, Mollie's beanie! Thanks, Alex! 🪬
This was very needed! So much news has come out this past week
without alex and mollie i’d know absolutely nothing, and i’m forever thankful for their timely and hard work 😭😂
theyre running scared from the acolyte despite that freshness actually being sooo welcome.
Maybe they mean Rey as Obi Wan in the Prequel trilogy 🤔
I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing David Production's take on Star Wars. They're easily my favorite company due to Jojo.

Rey is the Way!
May be too similar to The Duel, but I would LOVE to see an anime in the style of the Celebration 2025 ticket art. That would be awesome.
Yes, he also gave Kathy all the treatments he has written. The stories will continue within his vision for as long as I'm alive.
Although the sequels were his idea and the current Lucas regime still possesses the treatments somewhere in their building, I doubt George would’ve executed Ep VIII the way Johnson did, or butchered the landing as badly as Abrams did with Ep IX.

My most anticipated December release is that Lord of the Rings anime so I would totally watch some Star Wars Visions on the big screen!

I'm SO happy Mollie is a Silo fan! I am loving that series, even though I haven't read the books.
Rey trilogy will be interesting cause should be set 15 years after the events of rose of skywalker
Was the High Republic never supposed to be the place the films go? I’ve been confused for years now as to why we haven’t gotten a trailer for a new trilogy set back then
It feels like they’re letting the publishing story complete before expanding the era (to me at least!)
I kinda wish they'd look into movie adaptations from The High Republic
That is why we should just move forward… not back… what happens after episode 9?
Episode 9 has to many non-sensical unresolved Palpatine plot-holes to be able to move forward into a new story. They gotta fix the existing story first.
Is there anyway someone could write the fifth book to bring to its conclusion the story of the clones.
*raises hand* I would like a Rey trilogy please
BIG SAME the more rey the better for me, that’s my girl 😭😂
I need Finn to come back as a Jedi in it 🙏🏼
ditto
I just want actual names for the movies.
Also love Molly’s fit, I need that beanie
Have you played Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card DLC and what did you think of it?
I'm still confused. The schedule explanation needed visuals, but hey, I'm more of a visual learner.
I spotted y’all on the brewery’s instagram story about trivia night 😂 had to do a double take
Q&A: I would like to see “Tales from the Holonet”. Take your pick of Legends material. TV shows are fiction, right?
Oh, yeah. Animated, of course.
Any opinions on the Wild Cards DLC for SW Outlaws? I saw a release trailer but nobody’s acknowledging it 😕
Nostalgia... It's not what it used to be...
I just don't need sequels to sequels, can we not move on to something new?
I wished we had trivia nights where I live. You make it sound so fun.
