I have been taught subnetting the incorrect way. I just gave up until I found your video. The 1’s and 0’s are so confusing I am watching this video over and over because this method is so easy to understand. Thank you for posting for people like me. If anyone is struggling PLEASE follow this it will begin to click. I put my life on it this group of folks makes it fun not intimidating. I am sharing this with everyone like me trying to get into IT
I want to cry. I was so confused by all the 0's and 1's but the students laying it out so straight forward AND showing the applications, it's finally clicked for me. I just took a semester on networking, and on top of that I am taking a course on udemy to reinforce everything I've learned, but it was this video that made everything so clear. beyond grateful, many thanks.
I cannot believe I was blessed to have him as a teacher for CISCO courses. Absolutely made me understand subnetting without scouring youtube for videos. I came here for a re-fresh.
I watched this a few weeks before, rewatching it again after learning my subnetting objectives now it establishes what I know and what to learn this is good
I’m currently sitting in CCNA boot camp, confused because the instructor keeps talking about going left and right. Saw your video twice, I have now mastered subnetting, thank you kindly
Lord! Thank God for youtube...I cantr imagine how people tried to figure things out without the internet back in the days. I was sooo confused when my prof tried to explain this. Thank you again.
Guys i just want to thank all of you from the deepest of my heart for letting us access this quality content course and allowing us to really understand how subnetting is working it's so well explained that it's effortless to understand it And all this for free it's just so kind from you May God bless all of you in each domain of your life Peace and Love on you ❤
So glad that you liked the video and it helped you like it helped us. We are happy to share the knowledge and technique that we learned so we can be successful IT professionals. Thank you and goodluck to you too!
Professor Dave Tepper, if you do not mind can I be rude and say thank you soooo much for your great teaching method, I honestly learned a lot, and I have been going crazy trying to understand the concept behind this crazy subnetting world, which you guys made it easy and simple. one problem I guess the camera was not recording well. so yes I am rude and going to say thank you soooooo much, please if you do have other videos please if you don't mind could you please upload them that way others will benefit from your skills and knowledge. thank you sir and as well as your students, you guys have made it really easy. I can say no one has an excuse to do not to understand it now, since I understood it, the entire world should have it as piece of cake
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! I never thought that I would get this until now! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I will watch this so many times!!!! THANKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU!
Jarleif Vågen thank you for subscribing! I'm still new on the game and this was how I learmed subnetting. That's good to know. You probably still have that touch today :)
Man, good vid, you and the guys seems like a good bunch of real people! relatable! I have a question though, in the last example the 4th network ips that could be assigned to host were 194 to 253. Can you explain why its not 194 to 254, I was under the impression that the broadcast address for the last subnet would be 192.168.100.255?
Thank u all for this wonderful video. My question is, what if you are to make one for 32 hosts, and without adding the gateway and broadcast address, you'll have total of 34 host. And now you will have 2 bit under 32 in the chart table, to add it to /26, which is /28, instead of 3 bit under 64 in the chart table. Am I gonna have wrong answer to at the end?
One question how do we know how many computers there are per network? Also you might want to explain why the leading ones when say 30 is big enough to accommodate 20 hosts. The reason I figured out is bc the 1s in the subnet mask MUST all be continuous. You might want to mention that.
Im a little confused about the use of the network address's and the gateway address's. I thought the two were the same or is this the way to do it when "IP SUBNET-ZERO" isn't active on a router?
Would love to be able to see better what is on the board. The flashed numbers could stay up longer so that whatever is being written is seen during explanation. Still confused after explanation. :-(
We apologize for the quality of the writings on the board. We are planning to do the video again with a better quality to be more helpful to you guys. Thanks for watching
does this work on all classes? I would like to see it done with an address that doesn't end in 0 and maybe a couple of different classes. I will subscribe in case you do those.
You know your stuff, but you've not exactly embraced the medium of video. I can see very litte of what you've written in these shots, even in full screen mode

wildsbok thank you so much.. I'm glad that it helped you. Yes but we were lucky we were able to finish the course and I found a job in IT right away.
Ah great news!
Thanks for passing knowledge. I wanted to direct a friend to ortchicago but found out the school is closed. Thanks for amazing contents though.
Thank you so much my brain is damaged from an accident and this has helped me to prepare for my network plus exam

At one point I had a high score on Cisco's Subnetting game..many years ago! :) Just because you had this video..I had to subscribe to your channel! :D
Jarleif Vågen thank you for subscribing! I'm still new on the game and this was how I learmed subnetting. That's good to know. You probably still have that touch today :)
When is the a and b coming out? This video was hands down the easiest explanation I have ever seen thank you!

Rama Krishna you re welcome.. I'm glad you learned something
I subscribe just because of this video
this is awesome thank you guys job well done
Thank you so much! We are happy to help
Thank you so much for this video. This is just awesome and amazing!!!
Great video! the constant interrupting of the last guy trying to explain was annoying. He only done it on the black guy
Thank you from sudan
great tutorial

Great explanation!!
Thank you so much! We just wanna share how we learned as a student
192.168.100.255 is not a network address of a /26. It's the broadcast of 192.168.100.192/26
There are only 4 subnets on a /26 network. The .255 should be the broadcast address of the .192 subnet
I just want to say......this is fucking excellent!!! BOOM!! Thank you.
Thank you so much! Appreciate the comment. Sorry if the video is low quality tho.
Great video 😊
THANK YOU!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You're very welcome!!!
Best way explained
Thank you. Hope you learned a lot. More videos to come.

video quality and markers were below standards lol but the knowledge shared was epic and helpful! Thank you
DreamersInkArt yes coz we didn't have any equipment when we were in class. But thanks! I guess knowledge matters the most
Im a little confused about the use of the network address's and the gateway address's. I thought the two were the same or is this the way to do it when "IP SUBNET-ZERO" isn't active on a router?
Does this man have a channel?? I need access to him forreal !!!
GOOD!!!
Excellent tutorial. how about those in class b and class a. tnx
Thank you! Should be the same method. I'll try to make a video for it
Marie does this work on other classes?
great job
Kevin Huynh thank u!!
why when writing the network addresses at around 11:00 did he write 96 after 64? i thought it was consistently doubling?
perfect thank you for that
You are welcome! I also made a tutorial for subnetting class a and b th-cam.com/video/lvkN6bZ-WRQ/w-d-xo.html. I hope you would learn from it.
I love this!! thanks!@!!!!
Rusty Wright thank you. Hope you learned from this
for sure! I looked up the school and it closed :(
Rusty Wright yes it did but atleast we were able to finish before it closed

Very good. But the pen doesn't work. That is the most basic things to start a good presentation. never mind.
Does he have a video for class B address?
Wood Droe we would make one soon for class B and A and vlsm. Pretty much the same process but on different octet
East Charmer
Hi is class A&B video out now?
Please let us know
Could I donate some dry erase markers that actually work?
Is this practical????
Because it seems too good to be real 😁
Oh yeah. I've been using this technique at work 👌
@@EastCharmer
With any class?
Like class A B and C?
@@mikereizz it's the same technique for class b and c but you just have to switch up the octet
@@EastCharmer
I would like to have more explanation
As iam rookie to this whole subnetting thing 😆

Bring MeSunshine I totally agree. I don't like the quality of it. When we filmed it, the only camera we could afford was a camcorder.
Bring MeSunshine thank you for the feedback
TERRIBLE. Wasting 30 hosts between routers. Unpracticable.
