Maybe another race idea is a pair race . Paired engines going against others like tank and tender engine against others from each railway company or railway company’s LNER LMS SR GWR BR going against each other etc .

honestly instead of the DTG P42 use the Trurail P42 because it has better graphics and is way more detailed than its DTG counterpart and has a more realistic statistics with speed and other things.
I don’t mean to be rude or anything but, this race is quite unfair since some trains only have the locomotive themselves such as the class 66 and then some other trains have a lot of coaches like the class 390 and class 91

The 261 is a locomotive made for moving stuff at depot's and stations but not actually move Cargo or passengers from a to B
