Sauda gets extra damage with DoT towers. Since the top path burns, she gets bonus damage. I think putting a couple more top paths next to sauda to ensure she gets the bonus damage would have helped.
In terms of Perma spike the crosspath at base is basically the same. The difference is with buffs to damage, pierce, and most importantly Attack speed. If you're using buffs go 0-2-5. If there are little or no buffs then go 2-0-5
205 is actually exactly 1% better without buffs. 025 is way better with buffs tho, which you should always get on p spike.

@@timbeaumont3584 Not only does it strip you of the game mechanics you have grown accustom to, but it is also very limited compared to the other gamemodes where money isn’t limited to about 200k.
I always argue that half cash is harder but probably only on harder maps
chimps is easy enough. half cash is where the issue is
@@jesustouchme9142 Half cash is quite hard, but you also have access to income and MK which is a big game changer imo.
I just like the concept of the spoke tower. It evolved from the older games having road spikes as a one time item you added on the track for some cash, and then ninjakiwi went "why not make it a tower that lays down these spikes?"
It was a great decision on NK’s part to make it a tower. Loved the spike factory when it was just a Birds Eye view in btd4 and still love it now

Unironically, 3-2-0 spactory spam in the back is surprisingly effective. It shreds DDTS and cerams
Permaspike has been changed so many times that the top path white hot spikes is actually 1% better now when permaspike is by itself, because alchemist exists.
When alch buffed, faster firing is better.
How about.... Chimps++ after this! Trying on advanced maps, less would be possible I imagine but it would be neat.

Since most people usually aren’t doing one tower chimps, a fasterprofuction perma spike with a 2-0-0 alch ends up being better than white hot spikes mainly the pierce the alch provides but also the most spikes you’re able to produce from it

Don't forget you can change the Permaspike 'targeting'- Smart puts the stacks all at the furthest back spot, letting it be the ABSOLUTE LAST line of defense, hopefully letting other towers pop things before they get to that point.
But I don't like that at all. On normal you see how many build up is left. Especially since he doesn't black-border he has a measure when to pause and restart.
But I agree, since he had a spiked balls at the back, smart would be usefull, because thenthe spiked balls get used up earlier.
Smart would be useful. But, you have less vision of what is left of the pile of they're all in one spot. If they're layered, some does get used up ahead of mines, but you'll see when you need to reset too.
But I'm confused, don't reset also clear built up spikes? He did it and it didn't, but I didn't realize they patchedd that.

for permaspike the cross paths are really simple. no alch buff -> 205, with alchbuff -> 025
Spiked Balls is a super interesting tower because before round 80 it's terrible, but once you pass round 80 they become one of the most efficient towers in the game for popping ceramics. (It does extra damage to ceramic bloons. Before round 80, less than 10% of a ceramic's RBE actually comes from the ceramic layer, but afterwards about 90% comes from the ceramic layer, so it goes from roughly 10% extra ceram damage (maybe a little higher due to layer skip) to nearly double DPS)
This one was really cool, nice job clutching round 98 out!
I found myself wondering if top path spike factories towards the front of the map would be better off with smart spike for an early burst of damage, rather than going middle crosspath. I'm not sure how to measure to see if I'm right or not, though
It would be better sooner, since later rounds almost always last so long that the starting spike burst wouldn't outperform other options
If you do want to do testing, what would be fun is to test the smart spike speed boost during a carpet, coupled with the longer life span of the carpet. That might be great, except not for ddts lol.
Spiked Mines apply Burn to bloons which is a Buff for Sauda!!

Without Alchemist, top crosspath is 1% better for Perma-spike. With alchemist, middle path is better but its close.
With alchemist, pat, Geraldo, ect, middle crosspath soars. The top crosspath gets less than half the gain from alch and absolutely no gain from Geraldo.

Spiked Mines was recently buffed to do way more damage to cerams and I think fortified.
...but it sure doesn't feel like it, lol
With the permaspike I always find that the 025 is better if you have an alchemist + jungle drums for it, in every other scenario I always use the 205
Oh, btw, I'm binge watching your vids, SJB, and I remember on a few occasions, you spammed the Escape key to pause the game just before a loss and accidentally closed the menu, unpausing the game. You can use the Tilde key (~) to open the menu and accidental multi-taps doesn't close the menu.
Round 97 and the BAD are a joke against the crazy single-target domination of spactories

without external buffs white hot spikes is better for perma-spikes in terms of DPS too.

Deadly spikes towards front and mid are underrated. They do quite a good chunk of damage, restack when the Bloons are going towards the end of the track, and restack rapidly at the start of each round with carry over. And they aren't very expensive. I've found a 025 further forward and 204 right at the back very effective

A spike factory paragon would be insane
CHIMPS++, allowing you to utilize each tower to its fullest! Allowing the use of Villages, or Alchemists, or both! :D
With permaspike the best thing to do is going 025 because as you said it is stronger, for DDTs just put a 420 alchemist near it, or a 230 village, or even both to even make it more powerful.
Obviously in this case where you can't use alchemist or village, 205 was better
I feel like the perma spike when equipped with the white hot machinery really can wreck just about everything. I've never played BTD6 but I've played 5 and spiked mines are also absolutely insane a destroying everything. In fact, I was able to get up to round 77 with just spiked mines and a few other random towers.

Yeah, I'd rather go 0-2-5 spike with alchemist when possible because I get more spikes quicker and don't need to worry as much about DDTs. Best of both worlds, otherwise I probably ain't going permaspike because preference

2-0-5 is 1% better then the 0-2-5 when unbuffed. But as soon as you buff either of them, the 0-2-5 pulls ahead

Actually, the bigger stacks and white hot spikes upgrade on permaspike is 1% better than the faster production. But with the alcemist buff the faster production is better

Sjb if your going for a 025 spike factory it’s better is you buff it but if you don’t buff it you should go for the 205

I would have skipped the mid path 5th tier. It's not helping as much as you might think. 4-2-0 at the back & 4-0-2 at the middle would have been better for the cost.

i think people dont understand the power of perma spike like a perma spike and carpet of spikes with 1 maybe 2 spiked mines solos no problem with a lil bit of rng just the 2 can on logs like perma spike can basically solo everything
For Permaspike, 205 is 1% better than 025 without alchemist. With alchemist, 025 is better because damage and pierce buffs almost do the same thing with Spikes

Smart Spikes are great for multi path maps
Not complaining but it feels so wrong to not see the Perma-spike with smart targeting, I'm already so used to it that not having all the spikes in the same place feels weird
It also shoots out more spikes in the beginning of each round when you set it to smart, so he lost out on quite a bit of dps.

Going for a 0-2-5 Spike factory is pretty pointless. If DDT’s can penetrate your defenses then it wouldn’t serve to benefit you in the long run.
I never get 2-0-5, i always get 0-2-5 spike factory with a 4-2-0 alchemist. Has all the ddt popping power needed as well as being stronger vs everything else.
It just hit me today that the spike factory goes all the way back to Btd4!
