I can't decide which place is more beautiful, Koh Tao, or Koh Phi Phi. I loved kayaking around Koh Phi Phi, and there is some hiking on the island, but Koh Tao seems to have more places to go to get away from it all, from other people, and lots of roads to explore. I had nearly all day alone on one beach, and didn't hear anyone or see anyone the whole time, until late afternoon. Cut some coconuts out of a tree and ate them, as well as a papaya tree that had fruit falling to the ground.
Thailand has been good to me, and I've been to Koh Tao twice, 4 days the first time, and 8 days the second time, and I'll go back again. As long as you're not an ass, everything will be fine.
